4 Powerful Ways To Fire Up Your Motivation

Motivation is work! It's hard work. But it's the real deal and when you're serious about the goals that drive you, nothing gets in your way. Sure, there are plenty of stumbling blocks, but when you regularly find ways to fire up your motivation and stay on track with your long-term goals, it pays off in the end.

In this article, I'm going to share 4 powerful ways to keep yourself on track and motivated with all of the tasks that need done throughout your day.

You'll learn how to make choices more quickly so that you might avoid procrastination (which is a huge time suck) and limit multitasking (which can be exhausting).

You'll also learn how to recognize when it's time to change your mind about a decision you've made so that you don't stay on a course that isn't working for you.

There are many reasons why motivation can wane, but the good news is that there are always ways to get back on track and keep moving forward even when you hit roadblocks.

Here's how I fire myself up when my motivation lags:

1. Stop multi-tasking and make choices (and decisions) as quickly as possible.

Multi-tasking is one of the most common destructive habits in our lives. It's so easy to switch tasks and make decisions quickly that we do it almost every day.

The problem is that when we multi-task, we're less effective. We have a hard time with focus, we miss out on important details and we're not able to take our real full focus on the task at hand.

But when you stop multi-tasking, you're able to keep your true motivation soaring and your efficiency skyrockets because you can really focus on your goal. You can really get into what it takes to get the result that you want without worrying about anything else.

When you stop multi-tasking, you create an amazing opportunity for yourself to accomplish more because you're not distracted by the things that are truly important to you in your life.

The trick is to give yourself just one thing to do at a time and see how focused and motivated you can be with that one task.

For instance, right now I'm writing this post. I can't check my email, I can't surf the net and I can't go on Facebook while I'm writing this post. I have to sit here and focus on one thing and that one thing only.

But wait… what if I change my mind about this? Ahhh… That's right, I'm writing about my motivation for the day. No multi-tasking allowed.

2. Don't let yourself get distracted by the small stuff.

While it seems like you've got all the time in the world when you're at home, that's not the case when you're working at a job you don't like or when you're trying to accomplish a goal that means so much to you.

There are so many distractions that you can get caught up in throughout the day that it's really easy to start worrying about them and allow them to impact your motivation.

If you're hungry, go eat. If you want a drink of water or some coffee, go ahead and get one. If someone is bugging you about something unimportant, deal with it or let it go.

You have to keep your eye on the ball when it comes to motivation because if you're worried about anything else other than your goals, then you've already let yourself down.
