5 Easy Way to Lift the Spirit

It’s no secret that life can be tough and sometimes times are just difficult to get through. It might seem as though you're in a downward spiral and getting nowhere fast. But it’s important to know that a single act of kindness, an unexpected act of generosity, or even listening to someone else's troubles can make a world of difference. It’s these simple things that brighten our days and lift the spirits. So today we're going to give you five easy ways to help lift the spirit!

First up we have giving joyfully: when your act is motivated by genuine love for others, not just selfishness or prideful gain. While there is something to be said for joyfully spreading good news and rejoicing in shared happiness, it’s also important to remember that those who don’t feel joy at joy from such acts are not the people you should focus your efforts on.

It is a great challenge for many people to be grateful for what they have because of everything that they have had to endure. That does not mean we have to pretend that our circumstances are perfect or happy when they are not. It means being grateful without making people feel guilty or uncomfortable. We are all in this together and we are all struggling. We will all find our way.

Happy people have a great way of lifting their friends's spirits by simply being around them and sharing what’s on their minds. They don’t go out of their way to make others feel inadequate or less fortunate than they are, but they do look for ways to make them happy by focusing on the positive aspects, even if there isn't much.

You should talk to your friends and family about what's going on in the world around you. Just don't let them bring you down with the negativity they might have. Try to make them see a brighter side of things so that they can lift up their own spirit.

When you notice someone who just looks like they need a little help, stop and offer it. Whether it's a smile or a kind word, what good can come from an indifferent act? There is always going to be someone who needs help and we should be there for them.

While you are in the helping business, you might want to offer yourself the same help others are getting. This can mean volunteering your time to a new group and giving your services for free. But it doesn’t have to be this way! Offer your services for something worthwhile that will actually benefit others as well as you. If you have free time, find or create something wonderful and give it away for free.

The most important thing to remember is that even simple acts of kindness can make a big difference in your life and the lives of others. Whether it’s giving someone a hug, helping someone with their groceries, or just stopping and smiling at the stranger you pass on the street. You are going to be amazed at how encouraged you both feel!

Motivational speaker Brian Tracy once said “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” That's right! There is no substitute for hard work and perseverance in climbing up to where we want to be.
