5 Great Tips to Handle Stress

1. Take care of yourself
It can be hard once you start feeling frazzled to find the willpower to take care of your health. But making time for exercise, sleep, and quality meals will help you maintain a more even keel.

2. Think (positive) thoughts
Mindfulness is the practice of staying in tune with your current activity and surroundings without dwelling on anything else. This means not letting stressful thoughts about what may happen next run rampant through your head. In other words, don’t worry about things that have not yet happened — just think about what you’re doing right now.
3. Change routines
Sometimes, no matter how stressed we are, it’s essential to change up our routine. Changing your activity or environment can be the perfect distraction — give it a try and let me know what you think!
4. Relax
There are many ways to relax including: a walk in the park, a relaxing hot bath, or even meditating. Personally, I have discovered that listening to music just before bed helps me sleep better and more peacefully for the night. I recommend being somewhere quiet where you can be alone when you need to be and not worry about being overheard since listening to music on your phone or computer tends to wake others up as well.
5. Forgive
Sometimes, to feel better about a situation, we need to take it all out on someone. But the rush of anger and the sense of satisfaction that comes from it can be addicting and we may not even realize how much control we are losing over our lives. No matter how bad things may seem, there’s always another side to the story.
