5 Reasons To Not Let Depression Control You Anymore!

Depression knows no bounds. It affects every individual in some ways and at different times, but it never accepts defeat. Depression can steal your happiness, your peace of mind, and even your will to live. But here is a list of reasons you need to not let that happen anymore:

1. Depression leads to self-harm, whether it is cutting or any type of suicidal behavior—and no matter how intense the pain may feel at the moment, just know that there is always someone who loves you and can help get you through this difficult time.

2. Depression will put you in a cycle of self-destruction. You will feel that you are worthless and start to blame yourself for everything and anything. This triggers an even more severe sense of guilt, which makes you want to be relatable by hurting yourself even more, and so on and so forth. Depression isn't something that you can simply snap out of; it's a disease that consumes you completely.

3. Depression leads to personality changes, getting irritable, being sensitive, and just generally not feeling like yourself at all.

4. Depression leads to loneliness. It may not be the type of loneliness you want to feel, but being without someone that you love can make you feel as though no one can ever love you again.

5. Depression leads to lack of productivity at work and school. You will see a big difference in your grades and behavior when the depression is gone.

I understand that this is a long list, but it is important to remind yourself of all these reasons over and over again in order to keep depressed thoughts away from your mind once they start coming up every time you're feeling down or upset. Depression is something that you cannot control, but you can do your best to not let it control you.
