When we think of goals, we typically consider goals that are materialistic in nature. However, the goal of developing your soul can also be a worthwhile endeavor. Your soul grows as you explore new experiences and learn about yourself and the world around you. There is much to learn from your soul! This post discusses how to obtain happiness by reaching out for more understanding in this one simple way: developing your soul.
1. Explore what it means to develop your soul.
There are several aspects that define this goal. There is no need to rush out and take on everything at once. Start by exploring some of the ideas that you come across in this post and discover the details of those topics for yourself. Allow your intuition and curiosity to guide you in finding the most relevant information that speaks to you at this time in your life—or perhaps even beginning a journey with a new topic altogether!
2. Consider what features or traits define your character and personality, or better yet – how to improve them! You will never be complete but always growing as a person, so try something new once in awhile! Explore other cultures, study something completely new... discover who you are and grow in that direction.
3. Plan for the future
A really great book about this was The Soul of Money: Symbolism and the Quest for Spiritual Meaning on Investing , written by Stan Herd, which is a short read that takes you on a journey through history to find out why money is so important, ultimately concluding with how money should be viewed as "a tool that enriches your life and challenges you to reach deeper into your soul." The author focuses on how we can use money responsibly and make it part of our soul growth process.
So how do we develop our soul? It's quite simple actually... we just do what it takes!
4. Dig deep into your soul to figure out where your money should go and why you will do it. Really consider what motivates you, and make sure that whatever it is serves your purpose. Don't let the money run your life, and don't let other people tell you what to do with it either! This is your money, so do with it whatever makes sense for you.
5. Get away from debt so that you can use your energy on more creative endeavors . As soon as possible get rid of all debts... you can't pay your debt and your soul at the same time. If you need to, work to get rid of your debts and then put that energy into a creative endeavor.
6. You can start by writing down the things that you want, the goals that you want to achieve... just write down everything! Spend some time thinking about what you have been saying throughout this article. It will all make more sense once you start having fun in your new endeavors!
7. Or find a new hobby that interests you ! Write down why each thing is important! Start reading books about religion, philosophy, spirituality...etc. Learn about your own culture and the variety of cultures. Don't limit yourself to just one thing!
8. Consider a change of environment for a time – maybe you could stay at your aunt's house or with a friend. You will have more time on your hands, so why not use that time to learn something new?
9. Think about what you want to do with your life after college and make plans for it!
10. Go to sleep in the summer and don't watch TV or text messages, instead reflect upon what went right and wrong, how can you improve yourself...etc...
11. Take some soul-nourishing excursions
