"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."

"What’s your dream? What are you waiting for? Do it now — as if you were going to live forever. The most regretful people on earth, and the unhappiest, are those who had “all the opportunities in the world” that they neglected." - Paulo Coelho

Do you have any regrets? Something that's been weighing heavily on your mind and heart for the last few months or maybe even years? It's not too late to change course. There is a light at the end of every tunnel and we're living in one of the best times in human history. But you have to make a move now.

It could be something small like postponing buying that new video game system. Or it could be something big like disappointing a partner, family member, or friend. I know how it feels to regret a decision I've made in the past, but I'm here to tell you that it's never too late to change course and start living your dream today!

More importantly though, what is it that you're waiting for? It could be something as simple as attending an event or speaking at a conference. It could be something as major as quitting your job to pursue your dream full-time. Or it could be something as scary as traveling to a new country, moving to a new city, or having the guts to go talk to that cute girl standing over there.

I know for myself, I always have at least 5 different projects on the go: I'm working on my website and social media accounts, building my business and growing my brand, going out with friends, playing online video games and even trying to write a novel. On top of that list I'm sure you have things you're working towards like saving money for a down payment on a house or car, starting university or college again, or learning how to cook.

There is no need to have everything figured out right now. There is no need to know exactly where you're going to live, who you're going to marry, or what your first-born child's name will be. Not everyone knows what they want out of their 20s, but the truth is that you should be living for now.

Here's something I learned from the book The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho:

"If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening then be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear. (If this is the case) give the fluff time to work itself out. There's no need to shout."

It may seem cliche, but honestly there's no need to rush to get what you want in life. You'll get there when you get there and chances are you'll look back at it and have a lot of fun reflecting on what you did and saw along the way. Yes things may not always go your way, but as my father always told me "Don't worry about the things you can't control."

Live for today. Experience life as it comes at you. Enjoy every minute of it. Take pictures and write down your favourite things to look back on when you become a grumpy old man or woman who can't stand the kids running around your neighbourhood.

"The future can be compared to an unopened gift. It is always better not to give it away, but wait until the last minute to open it." - Paulo Coelho

And don't forget that taking action today could change everything tomorrow. You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.

Good luck! - Mike @ The Journey Of Life: Dreaming Big Yet Living Small? . . . Never! . . .
