Goal Setting For Success Without The Hassles Of Personal Planning...

This is for all the disorganized, scattered people that just can't seem to keep their lives together. It's for those who are tired of wasting hours each week gathering and organizing their thoughts, to-do lists, ideas etc. in order to make sense of their life.

Finally you can stop burning time! This blog post teaches you how to set goals without having the hassle of personal planning through visual examples and interactive illustrations.

How to Achieve Your Dreams and Realize Your Full Potential

Goal setting is the process of creating a desired outcome and then taking steps to make it happen. Have you wondered why some people with great ideas, integrity and drive achieve success while others fall short of their dreams? Why do some people keep setting achievable goals only to lose motivation before achieving them, when others achieve seemingly impossible goals with ease?

You may think the difference lies in intelligence, knowledge or resources. While those factors do play a role in success, it's not always so. Many notable successful people have succeeded through sheer perseverance and dedication. No matter how many times they failed they got back up again... and again... and again.

In this blog post I am going to show you how they did it, while also showing you what some of the most influential people from history had to say about achieving success...

The Truth Behind Goal Setting: An Excuse To Be A Creator!

"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." - Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh

"If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours." - Henry David Thoreau

"A man can't ride your back unless it is bent. " - Booker T. Washington

"There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure." - Colin L. Powell

The most misunderstood concept in success in this age is the goal setting process. Most people have been taught that setting a goal is enough to succeed. They give little thought to how they will create the goal and hold themselves accountable for it's achievement.

They set goals by writing it down as a meaningless statement on a piece of paper, then promptly forget about them... until the next time they lose their temper, get frustrated or just need something to yell at (in which case they grab their "notebook" and yell about it).

Those people are believing in what I like to call the "Magic Bullet," approach. They think that as long as they don't forget about their goal then, somehow, it will come true on it's own. At times this seems to be the case, but this is not true success and your efforts will become less effective over time.

Is there a better way to set, follow and achieve your goals? Is there a way to set goals that are achievable and actually work?

Unfortunately most people have not been taught how to set goals effectively. In fact, most of the so called experts only teach you how to write down your goals as a method of future planning.

Most people don't realize that you are creating a goal by setting it. They think that their goal is already out there somewhere in the universe and they just need to look for it.

As one of my readers often says, "Goals are like wishes." They may be written down in a book, bookmarked on your browser or even on Facebook but don't believe for a second that their goals exist only in the minds of others. They aren't written anywhere except for where you can see them with your own eyes... your mind!

It seems as though most people have given up on achieving success because life has become so chaotic and unpredictable. The media and politicians are constantly trying to make us feel bad about our personal circumstances. We are bombarded with negative programming from celebrities, authors and media personalities. They seek to take advantage of the weak minded who are easily influenced by their words and promises.

This is especially true with the subject of money and wealth. Most people have become so accustomed to the idea of having a million dollars that they can't even imagine ever having enough money to share it with others.

"Goals Are Like Wishes: What You Really Need To Know"
You need to learn how to set goals without relying on your imagination or what you read in books or see on TV. As a matter of fact, most advice you receive on goal setting is worthless.

Before I tell you the secret to setting goals that work, I want to give you a little lesson in history and psychology.

Not All Goals Are Created Equal: A Tale Of Two Types...

For most of recorded history, people believed that their greatest achievements would come from the efforts of another. Their beliefs were based on the idea that man was not capable of self-generation. In other words, they didn't think it was possible for a person to be responsible for his own actions or creations. It seemed as though the gods or other supernatural beings had destined a person's fate from the day he was born.

In fact, many people still believe this idea to be true today. Most people set goals according to what someone else tells them they should achieve. Their vision is based on fears and limitations they have inherited from others.

The first type of goal setting is called "other" directed goals. These are the types of goals you have when other people tell you what you should do, or write down goals that are not in alignment with your true potential.

Have you ever taken a quiz to determine your personality style? According to some studies there are four different types of personalities: introvert vs extrovert, intuitive vs sensor and thinking vs feeling.

These types of goals can also be called "other directed" because they are set by others. These types of goals often paralyze you in fear and procrastination.

Have you ever heard people say that they want to "live a better life" or "get out of the rat race?" These types of goals do not necessarily come from the internal desire to create your own destiny, but rather from the desire to please others who write down things for you to achieve. These goals will often feel like obligations and cause most people to always be performing for someone else... instead of for themselves. That's why we call them "other directed. Other Di-rected Goals: They're Found In Other People's Minds!

The second type of goal is self-directed goals. These are those goals that you set for yourself. Although these "other directed" goals will often paralyze you from a lack of motivation, they are easier to achieve because they come from the desire within you. Most people don't realize that these types of goals are the only ones that work. They are the only ones that can be relied upon to succeed.

As a matter of fact, many people achieve more when their goals are self-directed instead of "other directed." This is because they know why they want to achieve their dreams or visions and act accordingly without fear.

Conclusion: The lesson of the story is that your goals MUST come from within. You must set your own goals and not rely on other people's ideas of success. Your goals will never work if they are based on someone else's values, rules or limitations.

This Is How To Set Goals That Work...

The secret to setting effective goals is to set them for yourself. As a matter of fact, it is the only way to ensure that you will achieve your dreams and live a better life!
