Overcoming Fear Of Public Speaking

 Overcoming Fear Of Public Speaking

Public speaking is challenging for most people. It may be the number one fear for some, but it can also be a great opportunity to grow and develop as a person. We’ve got five tips to help you overcome your fear of public speaking:

1) Know that you aren’t alone - overcoming this fear is something many people have done before.
2) Prepare thoroughly - research your topic, practice in front of friends or family, memorize key points and plan out your talk in advance.
3) Take action - don’t fail. If you choose to retreat, it won’t do your self-confidence any good. Take the first step towards overcoming your fear of public speaking.
4) Get support - ask a friend or family member to assist you with this. You may have a hard time explaining your experience to them, but being open and honest is important, especially if it’s someone close to you.
5) Surround yourself with positive people - surround yourself with good friends and family that have overcome this fear, or have already conquered it. They will be an asset, and you’ll be able to communicate better when you’re around them.

I'm not sure if Lain already posted this, but if he did, I apologize for the redundancy. 2. Quote | Post #695940 (2)

I'm sorry, but I don't add to my name, and I'm not even the kind of person who uses their initials all that often... 1. Quote | Post #700407 (8)

Author: Lain It's fine. I don't care what you say. I was just curious. 1. Quote | Post #700407 (9)

Author: Lain Look, this is getting us nowhere, for both of us.

I'm going to talk, and you're going to listen. We have one more thing to do before I stop, and we're just running out of time. So let's finish this, shall we?

Author: Lain Let me put it this way. If you want me to keep talking, go ahead and tell me not to stop.

I'll obey. But you are going to listen, and then you're going to talk for me.

And before we start, let me just say one more thing:

Author: Lain Good luck with that!

To be honest, I don't think I can help you very much in this case. It seems to me like you're pretty stubborn, and that there's always going to be a part of you that hates the idea of speaking in public. It happens to everyone, even the best speakers in the world.

But I suppose I don't have much else to do at this point, so why not? I suppose it doesn't matter what happens now anyway.
