Self Hypnosis And Success
Have you ever been confident about your abilities but found yourself lacking the self-belief to take that confidence and turn it into success? What if there was a way to ignite confidence in yourself by using self-hypnosis techniques? In this article, I present you with seven steps to achieve confidence using these techniques. With just a few minutes of doing these exercises each day, you can build an incredible sense of true personal belief in yourself.
Self-hypnosis is a proven technique to convince the subconscious mind that your desired thoughts can become a reality. Although it requires time and effort, hypnosis can be used like a guiding light to take you through situations and thoughts for self-confidence. To begin, you'll need an environment that is free from distractions. Then, after choosing a subject appropriate for confidence building (mentioned later), read the following statements out loud or in your head. After finishing, allow yourself a few moments to repeat the affirmations.
"I am powerful, confident and smart." "I am in complete control of every aspect of my life." "My mind is very powerful, capable and intelligent." "My entire being is working tirelessly towards achieving success in every area of my life." "Every time I see a person that I respect or admire, I have confidence that they have the ability to make me successful."
Once you've completed those steps, choose another influential person in your life. Add their picture to a notebook while repeating the following statements.
"I admire ____'s confidence because I know that they have the ability to make me successful. People like this are able to motivate me, so I can become successful." "Each time I see ____, I am inspired and ready to take on any challenge." "I know that they can make me successful because they have a good mind with great ideas."
Repeat the steps above with pictures of several other influential people. You can also add a few of yourself in the notebook to get you ready for the confidence boosting exercises ahead.
Create a list that is separate from your notebook and focus on the specific aspects you want to build confidence into. This will be a guide to keep you on track with your goals:
The top five things I feel confident in doing. Five areas of personal knowledge I'd like to learn more about. The top five people who have made me feel good about myself, and how they did it. The top five people who have made me feel bad about myself, and how they did it. The top five people I want to surround myself with in a social setting. The top five people I want to be inspired by.
As you can see, creating the list is quite simple, but accomplishing all of the goals may seem a bit daunting. But remember, you will have to do these exercises every day for at least a week before seeing positive results. That's actually a good thing because it means you're establishing a new cycle of self-belief in yourself.
Be sure to include at least one person from each category. It may be beneficial to add several people from the same category, but that's up to you. Start off with your top five areas of expertise and work your way down the list. If you want to know what someone else has accomplished in a given area, don't hesitate to ask them directly. You may be surprised by what you find.
Take a moment to think about at least one area where you feel weak. Then, pick up a book that focuses on that particular topic. Read the introduction and do some research online if necessary. Check out the bibliography if you're interested in expanding on any of your findings. You can come up with several different projects to work on and focus on at once to build your confidence level in a certain area. If you're finding it difficult to find the first book, remember that self-hypnosis and success can be learned. You can always get a guide, tape or CD to help you along the way.
Now that you've got your confidence list all in one place, take some time to read the introduction of each book. This will give you a better idea of what kind of material is provided in the book and how you can apply it to your own unique situation. Then, take another look at your list and pick out one of the items you feel confident in doing. Start by reading the book and following its instructions as closely as possible. During this time, concentrate on what you've learned about that task and try to bring every bit of it into your mind and body over and over. Pick up on the cues to admit defeat if you notice yourself getting frustrated with anything that looks like an insurmountable obstacle.
Once you've completed one of these tasks, read the next item on your list. Keep doing this until you've worked your way through each item on the list. By now, you should be starting to build a new sense of self-belief and personal power.
Finally, it's time for the second part of the exercise, visualization. In this step, you will be working with your subconscious mind to visualize a successful outcome for yourself. The best time for this exercise is first thing in the morning. Before getting out of bed, take a few moments and close your eyes to relax as much as possible.
Conclusion
For those of you who decide to use the self-hypnosis technique, you'll want to give yourself a few minutes before going into hypnosis. By doing so, you'll have time to relax and settle down into a comfortable position. It's best to begin by sitting up in bed facing the wall and take six deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. If you don't have time for this, just make sure that you're relaxed before getting started.
