It's been a month since you've left Ketchikan. You've finished your work at the mission, and now you're on your own. You really don't know what to do next, and you're kind of worried that your time in Alaska might be running out. After all, the season was supposed to end in a few more months.
But everything changes when he askes for help with his boat one day...
One morning, he found his boat drifting... and he needed help. He wasn't able to row the boat without getting exhausted. He was so tired that he wanted to give up and go back home.
In short, he needed your help.
And so, you agreed to go with him back to the port. You told him that you'll take the boat back to the port. After all, you don't know how to row a boat. And neither did he! So you're taking turns rowing while he steers...

And then...
"I really appreciate your help, sweetheart." He said. "You've been a great help to me, and I'll never forget that. You're a strong-hearted person, and I've been observing you. It's not easy to come here and be lonely in such a place but you've done it. And the way you managed to do that was amazing! I'm so proud of you! But there's something else... There's something else I'm proud of..." he wiped tears from his eyes as he continued..."You see... You see, for me, going out with other girls is just like taking care of my boat. I just want to keep the boat in good shape and be ready for every day. But that's really hard to do when I'm not at home. I can't do that while away from my family. And... Well... You see, you're not just a guide, you're also a great friend."
"That's so sweet of you!" You said with a smile on your face. "Thanks for saying that!"
You couldn't help laughing at what he said. Not only you are a strong-hearted person but he was also watching out for your happiness back in Alaska! He was worried about you! He cares so much about you!
"So... You have something to talk about as well... What's the matter?" He smiled at you.
"I guess you're wondering why I'm smiling so much." You say. "Well, let me tell you... I like it here a lot!" You're still smiling as he helped his boat back to the port. But what's going on in your mind? You have a crush on him! It shouldn't be that surprising! Your parents are right. He is handsome, kind, and smart. He has a good personality and he knows a lot about Alaska... It's only natural that you like him!
"Girl..." he calls out to you as your boat reaches the port. "Let me help you with your boat. You must be exhausted."
"That would be grate!" You smile. He helped you out of your boat and he carried it to the dock. And then...
"This is amazing." You said, looking at the view in front of you. "This is a nice night." you continue to look at the starlit sky in Alaska. "So many stars..." you said to yourself. "God, I love it here... It's so beautiful..." You were speechless for a while until you looked up again and saw him staring at you with his eyes wide open like he just saw a miracle... He looked so shocked!
And then...
"It's perfect! I'll never forget this moment. It's perfect! So, I'll never forget this moment!" He said in tears.
"Oh... Oh. Oh." You said, now feeling guilty for what you just did. "What am I doing?" you asked yourself as your heart beating fast... Besides, he wasn't the only one crying. You felt so guilty! He was going through a rough time. And here you were being mean to him... "I'm sorry..." you apologized to him again, but he didn't hear you because he was still shaking his head at the same time as he tried to keep crying...
You wanted to console him, but you didn't know what to say or do...
"It's okay..." He smiled at you. "I just want to remember this moment..." he wiped his tears. You were so shocked, you almost couldn't contain yourself. You were really happy that he was smiling again, but you didn't know how to make him feel better... "I'm sorry..." He said again.
"No, don't apologize..." you said with a giggle. "You're not the only one who's sad... I'm sorry too."
"That's okay..." he said as he smiled again. "It just feels like we're so close, and now I'm... so far away from where I wanted to be right now." He continued to wipe his tears as you watch him in silence for a while... and then...
"Why don't you come back to my house with me? You can rest there, and we can talk about it. I'll make you some tea." He said as he wiped his tears again. This was so sad... You wanted to console him, but you didn't know how to say the right thing... He gave you a warm smile as he continued to wipe his tears on your shirt... "Hey, come on!" he said, making you laugh as well. "Don't feel sad." He smiled at you as he told you your hair looked nice when you were wet from sweat from rowing. "It would sound weird if we were alone now.
