In this slideshow, we've gathered resumes that were so out-of-the-box that they almost seem like jokes. But in reality, these are just a few examples of what's possible when you take the time to present yourself as a creative professional with a unique set of skills and experiences.
1.  Customized  Business Cards Customized business cards that showcase your skills and experience are a great way to break out of the stale corporate design with which so many employers are currently saddled. 2.  Digital Portfolio A few years ago, I met a web developer who had done something clever that I thought was brilliant: He displayed his portfolio in a series of JPEG files that he built from scratch, each mockup displayed as an individual page with different navigation items in its background and navigation bar. 3.  Comment Cards For Retail Assistants An interesting approach to help retail staff make the most of their time, the marketing director at the Dutch grocery chain Jumbo sent customers on their way with comment cards that asked them to record details about the service they received while shopping, including things like whether they were greeted properly or if there was anything they could have done better during their visit. 6.  Traditional Resume On A Coffee Mug Another creative example that used design elements to stand out from the crowd, this resume was cleverly printed on a coffee mug, allowing the owner to drop it in with her application materials or hand it over in person on a first interview. Conclusion :
Of the 9 articles presented here, there are 7 with over 1 million Google hits. That is 70% of the total. If you include the two with less than one million hits, then it is 80% of the total.
The work experience cards in these examples were designed for job interviews. They are an unusual way to show your skills, experience and contact information to a potential employer.
I am sure that some of these creative resumes have been effective in helping people find jobs. I do not know if they helped more than other methods of presenting one's qualifications and experience. I would be interested in reading any comments that may have data related to this point in time.
