ACTIVITY VS. ACCOMPLISHMENT
In this article, we'll explore what it means to be active vs. accomplished and how they affect your life. A lot of people are eager to check off as many items on their bucket list as possible, but they do not understand that being active is just as important- if not more important- than accomplishing. In this article you will come to a better understanding of the importance of balance and how being active can help you achieve your ultimate goal.
"What does it mean to be accomplished?" I'm glad you asked! Being an accomplished person means that you have reached a certain level of expertise in a particular field or subject area. It's a mark of great success. However, what does being active bring to the table that accomplishing does not? Why are you supposed to be active?
Being an accomplished person goes hand-in-hand with being a hard worker and having great determination. No matter how many accomplished people you meet, it will always be the ones who were actively seeking to learn another skill that you will find have the most impressive achievements in their field. This is because they are seeking out new challenges and developing new skills that can help them improve their chances of reaching their goal. It's all about the development of skills when it comes to being active.
Learning new skills is all about development. You don't start off as an expert and then decide to learn a new skill; it happens in reverse. You learn a new skill and then you become an expert. In order to develop a skill, you need to practice it over and over again. Practicing that skill won't immediately make you an expert, but the more you practice, the more proficient you will become at said task or activity.
While accomplishing is an important part of your journey down life's path, being active is just as important- if not more so- because it gives your life meaning and direction. It's not just about the accomplishments; it's about cultivating who you are as a person. It's about trying to reach your goals and find the best possible outcome for your life. This means you have to be willing to work hard at developing yourself, which means that instead of concentrating on what has already been accomplished, you will be concentrating on how to improve in order for you to reach your goals.
The journey down life's path is called "life", and active living is where you're headed. Being an active person can make all the difference in the world if you choose to pursue it because it shows that you are a proactive individual who knows how to take action- a trait needed by an individual who seeks accomplishment.
Being active is a lot more than just being busy. When you are busy, it means you are constantly doing something. That's all well and good, but what makes you an active person is that you know how to take action to get things done. There's a big difference between the two.
Most people who are considered successful are active individuals who seek out new challenges and develop themselves by working hard at the task at hand. It doesn't matter if they're at their job or taking time out to pursue their dreams; they're always looking for ways to improve themselves in some aspect of life. They look for ways to grow and develop their skills in order to become a better person.
This is what being active is all about. When you are actively pursuing your goals, you are working hard at improving yourself so that you can reach your ultimate goal. You're always looking for ways to make yourself better than the day before, and that makes all the difference in the world when it comes to accomplishing anything that you set out to do.
Since we've established so far that being active is just as important as accomplishing, then it's only natural that you need a healthy balance between the two. Just as you need to be active in order to accomplish, you also need to accomplish in order to develop your skills. You can't just be active and focus on that alone.
I'm going to give you a wedding analogy because I think it will help you better understand the importance of balance. Let's say that every day of your life is like a wedding day. Your life is made up of days and each particular day represents an accomplishment that you've made during your life so far. Now let's say each wedding day has its own bride and groom: the bride represents who you are now and the groom represents who you want to be in the future.
If you want to live a successful life, then you need to find the groom and marry them. That means you have to be active so that you can accumulate the amounts of knowledge and experience that it takes to reach your ultimate goal. You also need to be able to accomplish tasks in order to develop your skills, but if you don't know what bride or groom is who or where it's at, then there's no point in having any wedding at all, amiright?
This is why being active is important. Because without accomplishing anything, you'll never succeed in getting married. You need a full life that includes active living because the things that matter most are what happens after you've accomplished everything out of the way. It's what makes you who you are.
It's like that old saying: "You can't have your cake and eat it too." Being actively seeking to accomplish something ends up leading to a life of being married- which is a good thing! But, you know, cake tastes amazing. So does the wedding cake, but…well…guess which one I chose? (Hint: It was the wedding cake.)
This is why it takes balance in order for living to be worth living. If it weren't for the wedding-level of having a spouse and working hard at your job, then life would just be like eating nothing but the icing off a vanilla wedding cake for breakfast every day for the rest of your life. It's not very enjoyable, is it?
I'm not saying that you should go out and work on a bakery- I'm saying that you should work on yourself so you can accomplish things in life. You need to be active so that you can do things and accomplish things, but then you need to learn how to take action and be effective in order to become an expert. Becoming proficient at any skill takes time, because even when someone starts off as a novice, they must eventually become an expert. You just have to give it some time.
In order for you to accomplish, you need to be active, but you also need to be active in order for you to accomplish. It's sort of like the saying, "You can't have your cake and eat it too." If you just sit around doing nothing all day, you will eventually become a very appealing cake with no icing. You want both sides of the equation.
The point is that if you want to become an expert in any specific area of life, then you must be willing to work hard at achieving your goal so that you are prepared when a new opportunity comes up and helps deepen the understanding of what it means to become proficient at said task or activity.
Conclusion
When a goal is sitting in front of you, do you see the finish line? Are you just sitting there thinking about how much it would mean to accomplish that goal? Being active means that you are taking action to improve yourself in order to reach the finish line.
There's a very simple formula to follow when being active: Do something, then do something else. It's as simple as that. Just add one more thing and then add another one right after it and before it. Just keep adding things on until you're all done with whatever your goal entails and then some.
