 Study Time Means To Rest

There is no denying that students should take breaks and rest. A study done by the University of Cambridge established that those who slept for a mere 3 hours, had their attentiveness decline measurably in tests. This knowledge about sleep has informed the act of studying for long hours. College students are known to study for as many as 10 to 14 hours a day and this poor lifestyle can lead to serious health complications. It is now essential for college students or anyone who studies or works hard to recognize that time spent doing intense activities means time spent away from studying, not work or doing schoolwork itself in order to fully reap the benefits of your endeavours. College students should also take into consideration that enough sleep is needed to get the brain functioning at its best.

When you are studying, it is good to have a routine to follow. You could have a study desk where you do your assignments, some advice however would be to not just do one task at a time but try and do 2 or 3 tasks at once. Doing this way will provide an effective burst of concentration and you will be able to boost the brain power in order make it function better overall. During college many students are also known to work out. Many people recommend working out for college students because it helps increase the stamina and provides better stamina during exams which ultimately leads to better grades. It is therefore best to exercise in a time slot after doing your school or college work. This will boost you endurance and ultimately aid better grades and help you pass on exams with flying colors.

Some other tips to aid you in improving your studies would be to simply drink a glass of water while studying. The brain functions at its best when you are hydrated, so it is essential that you drink water during this time. When you start dozing off or feeling sleepy, take a 10 minute break to give your body some time to recuperate and also allow the brain some time to rest which consequently leads to greater focus on the task at hand. College does not just mean about studying for exams but working for a living as well. A general guideline is to try and avoid getting under 8 hours' worth of sleep per night. If you are getting only 6 hours, you may start showing signs of unrest in your work and be unable to concentrate.

Doing work while keeping a food journal is also a great way to ensure that the brain gets all the nutrients it needs to function at its best. By consuming foods that are rich in Vitamin B, C, E and Zinc, you will be able to better deal with stress and fatigue.
