I've found that by using affirmations consistently, I have been able to change their meaning and have them apply exclusively to myself. This is because the subconscious mind begins to absorb the words spoken and they help us focus our minds on something positive. This works amazingly well in terms of helping me with success in my goal of losing weight, but it can also be used for many other things such as increasing confidence or being more creative.
