Better Job Search Engines
A lot of people think that they can't find a job because either they're not very good at their resume or because the job market is too competitive. But the truth is, there are hundreds of companies you might never have heard about that are just begging for someone with your skill set to work for them. That's why you should use one of these websites to find out which jobs are open and what employers need from applicants. Check out our blog post on 10 better job search engines, and start finding your dream position.
What is a Job Search Engine?
A job search engine is a website that uses a database of job postings to help you find open positions. They range from free sites like Indeed that use aggregated data from across the web and premium sites like Resume-Library that have their own proprietary databases.
Job search engines are better than Craigslist, Monster, and CareerBuilder for finding jobs because they're (usually) more accurate and easier to use. The most popular ones are updated daily with new jobs from thousands of places you might not have been able to access before. They let you get to the meat of what employers are looking for without having to dig through tons of posts that don't interest you.
The most useful job search engines are your best bet for finding a new job. I've gone through all 10 of them to find out exactly why they're so good and which one should you use, and the one that comes out on top is…

Art of Manliness – Top 10 Job Search Engines by Bryan Hughes I discovered this list while I was looking for jobs, and it's an excellent starting point. It can help you find a good job based on the kind of role you're seeking.
The best job search engines are much better than Craigslist, Monster or Career Builder. They update faster and with more up to date information than any other sites that I've been to. The sites are also very user friendly and don't waste your time searching through hundreds of pages of uninteresting posts like they do on Craigslist and Monster. Also, most of them have templates which will make your job application look like a professional one.
After a while, you will start to get a feel for the types of jobs that these sites are good at and understand what employers are really looking for in candidates.
A lot of them don't ask enough questions. By that I mean they're not asking you enough information about yourself but instead just list the titles or skills they want when it's always best to focus on your experience and education. If you're interested then you should fill out as much information as possible because those extra details will help your application stand out in the crowd.
I would also advise finding a good job search engine from the start of your search. You might not think that it's necessary because you don't have much experience or relevant skills, but it will help you find jobs and work out what type of job you would like. This also helps you to come up with a plan if you're having difficulty finding work after graduating or looking for a new career.
Finally, I think the biggest benefit for using these types of sites is that if you're not worried about your degree or experience then it makes your chances much higher than those with just an ordinary resume and cover letter. Because you can apply for jobs that you couldn't normally do if you were using the other sites. So don't be surprised if you get a call back because it's quite normal.
Please let me know your thoughts on this list and I will try to keep it updated as things change. Read more: http://www.artofmanliness.com/2012/09/27/top-10-job-search-engines/#ixzz2CnkYvJeb
