Chinese Markets for Injection Molded Plastics
The Chinese markets for injection molded plastics are a great place to buy plastics made in China. The following article will provide a brief introduction on what plastic injection molding is, and how the Chinese markets work.
Plastics are made by a process called injection molding which involves introducing high-temperature liquid plastic into an enclosed metal cavity or heat sink called an ‘injection machine'. When the metal cavity is filled with hot liquid plastic, gas pressure forces the material out of the machine's nozzle in fluid streams that are cooled by air. The cooled plastic is hardened by contact with the air. The cooled plastic is then unloaded from the cavity and ejected via an ejection mechanism in order for a new piece of plastic to be injected. This process is repeated until all of the required amount of molded product is produced.
So how does one find plastic products made in China through the Chinese markets? There are two ways: retail and wholesale marketplaces, both of which are online.
On the retail market, a buyer may visit Alibaba.com, which provides a platform for private Chinese manufacturers to sell their products directly to foreign buyers as well as other individuals, companies and/or groups who may be interested in purchasing goods made in China. The seller can choose to sell either direct via Alibaba.com (the most common), or through Alibaba.com's agent services in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and Australia, who will act as a middleman between the buyer and seller.
On the wholesale market, a buyer may visit Made-in-China.com, which is like a giant marketplace for manufacturers and exporters in China who are looking to sell their products to wholesalers, importers and other businesses throughout the world. Buyers may also visit individual sellers' online stores on this site or go directly to manufacturers' websites that provide detailed information of their products and contact information.
Once a buyer discovers a product that he or she is interested in, the next step is to contact the manufacturer directly. The manufacturer will provide whatever information they consider necessary to ensure that their products are being made as described, and then will provide some sort of payment and packaging requirements. The manufacturer may require payment before the products are shipped, or may require payment after the product has been received by the buyer. However, if there is any specific question about the quality of their goods or methods of transportation (e.g., door-to-door courier service), this can be clarified at this stage.
The final step is to make a purchase. This is when the buyer will be able to select a variety of payment options, such as wire transfer, check or PayPal. After this is completed, the manufacturer will ship the order directly to the buyer.
Any business that seeks to sell outside its native country must compete in the international marketplace with buyers from everywhere else in the world, including China. Chinese markets are no exception and are in fact very open and welcoming to foreign businesses who wish to trade their goods within China's borders. Foreign companies are welcome to purchase goods from Chinese manufacturers, and Chinese businesses are welcome to sell their goods to foreign companies. The only consequence of this is that business in China may be conducted in the same way as business is conducted elsewhere in the world: by using normal market forces such as supply and demand, price and quality, etc.
Manufacturers who wish to sell their products via Alibaba.com or Made-in-China.com must have their products marketed on those websites so that other buyers can see them and buy them. Thereafter, the product will be shipped directly to its new owner.
