In the past I've used Google Analytics as a way to track keywords on my site but now they are very good with tracking content. I recently signed up for an account with Pardot, a marketing service that is similar to Google Analytics and allows you to track content and keywords. I'm going to be trying this out more over the next few months.
I have noticed a big difference as far as quality of leads from word/content searches vs. paid search since switching to Pardot vs. Google Analytics when I originally was just using tools like Wordtracker, Moz and SEMRush.
The SEMRush tool is a great way to see if your content is getting found on the first page for certain terms. I would definitely recommend using the free version to see if there is a demand for your content and how competitive that market is before actually investing any money in paid ads.
It easy to get caught up in the potential of these tools as far as how they will help you find new customers and sell more products/services but it's important to focus on creating quality content that also happens to be targeted for keywords that people are searching for. It will take a bit of time and effort to be successful but the results that you see in the end will be worth it.
I would still recommend using websites like Wordtracker and SEMRush just to keep track of how many people are finding your content on the first page vs. getting ranked on other search engines like Google and Bing, but Pardot is a great way to track your targeted keywords and get reliable data that you can use to determine which keywords have the best potential for bringing more business your way. My Rating Criteria
- Location: If it's not relevant or if it is relevant but it doesn't work well I'll give it a 2, otherwise 5
- Price: It has to be affordable and if it is expensive because it is an awesome tool and worth the money then a 4 or 5, otherwise 2
- Design: I like clean simple design that makes sense, nothing too fancy and no clutter. 3 if its nice looking with a solid design theme and a little more custom, otherwise 2.5
- Needs Improvement: If it needs improvement in one or more of the above categories I'll give it a 1 or 2
- Bottom Line: A personal rating on my personal experience and usefulness of the tool. I would want to use this tool if it was free, so 5
This review is based on my own experience with Visual Website Optimizer. Most of the people I know have at least one WordPress website and are using tools like WP Super Cache, WP Rocket, and WP Super Cache Reloaded to improve their site performance. But what about those who don't have a WordPress website? Or maybe you have a site that uses other CMS's like Joomla, Drupal, etc.
Conclusion: WP Rocket is absolutely the best caching plugin for a site running any CMS but it's not free. If you have the money though, I highly recommend it since it was about 10x faster than W3 Total Cache and the only reason I ended up going with W3 Total Cache (because it's free) is because of issues with WP Rocket when using CloudFlare CDN.
As far as page speed goes, InMotion Hosting did really well on Pingdom Tools.
