Ethically Sourced Flowers

 Ethically Sourced Flowers

Flowers are a beautiful gift for the recipient, but it's important to make sure that you are purchasing them ethically. There are many companies that offer ethically sourced flowers, and most of them can be found on this list.

-Local growers: A lot of times people grow flowers in their backyard and sell them locally at a farmers market or a particular grocery store near them, so they can be sure that they're getting the freshest possible flowers on the market
-Community gardens: This is where multiple people will lease land from an owner who won't need the land any longer. The leased space is then sectioned off into plots with markers indicating which plot belongs to whom. The community members are then free to plant whatever crops they like.
-Family businesses: This is a great way to support a local family and make sure that the flowers are ethically sourced as well, as you will usually be able to talk with the owner about where their flowers come from.

-Certified organic retailers: You can find ethically sourced flowers at certified organic retailers and farmers markets. Just look for the USDA Organic label on the flowers in order to verify that they're free from pesticides or other chemicals.

There are many other ways to purchase ethically sourced flowers, but these seem to be some of the more common methods these days.

There are also many sites that offer florists who sell flowers that are ethically sourced, so you can look for them on this list as well.

Why am I making such a big deal about buying ethically sourced flowers? Because it's such an important issue. I want everyone to be able to find their flowers in a convenient way, and I want to show people that it's possible. Even if you're not someone who directly makes your living off of flowers, they're still a beautiful gift. Buying ethically sourced flowers will also ensure that you are supporting important causes, as there are many who grow the flowers sustainably and turn a profit off of them in order to give aid to the farmers that cultivate these flowers.
