Experts Say the Allied Health Work Force Is in Jeopardy

As the population continues to grow and age, healthcare needs are also increasing. This means that the nation is going to need more people with experience in Allied Health. The number of people who qualify for these jobs will not be able to keep up with this need and so it’s predicted that the Allied Health Workforce will be in jeopardy if action isn't taken now.

The workforce that this article is referring to are the people who carry out jobs such as massage therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. There are many more professions that fall into this category such as nursing, optometry, and pharmacy.

Many people in the healthcare field, including hospital administrators, say that the U.S. needs to hire new workers and train them properly in order to meet the increasing demand for healthcare workers by working in the hospital setting. If this isn't done, then there will be fewer jobs than necessary and people who are qualified aren't getting them.
