Financial Value Of An MBA!
The financial value of an MBA may vary depending on the individual, but overall, it is a highly valuable asset. The smallest amount of a Masters in Business Administration is around $50 thousand and most often between $80-120 thousand. As one can see, it is not as cheap as going to community college and getting your high school GED. But the financial return for an MBA scholar is significant when you consider their lifetime earnings potential.
So what are you waiting for? You have to constantly be thinking about the future in order to be successful and have any sort of long lasting career with these stories floating around about the job market being so tough right now.
And for those of you that were in business school and received an MBA, then you are probably thinking, "Wow, how did I get so lucky?" The average salary of a person with an MBA from a top tier business school is roughly $80 thousand. This is a very useful tool to have in your pocket especially when you consider that people with a master's degree can expect about $1 million more than the typical person who has only a bachelors degree. And these numbers don't even begin to take into account the amount of money someone would make if they had an MBA and also have an undergraduate degree which could mean an additional $2-5 million dollars depending on the undergrad institution.
So if you are someone who is trying to decide between an MBA and a graduate school program, then you might want to consider the following factors before you make the decision. 1. Is an MBA right for you? It is important to do your research before making any decisions with your college options. Some people may be better suited towards a graduate degree or maybe they should consider getting both an MBA and a masters in another subject such as finance or accounting? Either way, it is important that this decision not be based solely on what your parents want but be based on what will make you happy and best fit for your career future. 2. What are you looking for in an MBA program? Are you looking for a specific industry or a location where you will be able to find your dream job after graduation? 3. Are the opportunities there for you or will you take the chances of having to move somewhere else in order to get a job? 4. What percent of your MBA classmates plan on leaving their current career after they graduate with their new degree and what percent are staying behind with their current employer?
In deciding which programs to apply to, it is important that you do your research regarding real employment rates and career placement rates for each of these schools. The best place to find this information is from other students that have graduated from the program and are now out in the industry working. Another way to find this information is to visit the school's website and look for anything that is posted about jobs or career success.
Overall, an MBA is essential for anyone who wants their earning potential to be much more than a high school grad or even a person with a bachelor's degree. It doesn't matter if you already have a great job, the rewards of having the MBA are enough to make anyone want to get this degree and show off their new business title.
