Healthcare Jobs Are Growing Fastest
Many healthcare jobs are increasing in numbers and size. Computers, medical information technology, and health policy all employed a total of 3 million people in 2015. The number of healthcare jobs has increased by 14% since 2010, which is the greatest growth rate among all industries. A United States Department of Labor report predicts that this trend will continue - with the exception of financial services - through 2021. More healthcare workers mean more Americans will be able to stay healthy for longer periods before becoming sick or needing acute care at emergency rooms.
The world is on an upward trend for human health care employment due to advances in technology and incentives from society that have greatly helped improve our quality of life. In the past 50 years, quality of life has increased among all Americans due to innovation and advances in technology. The decrease of infant mortality is an indication of a reduction in infant mortality, a result of the healthcare industry.
The healthcare industry is an excellent example for this invention. The World Health Organization estimates that more than 22 million people die each year from preventable diseases. This percentage is reduced significantly if the anti-retroviral drugs are taken. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), new infections have been on the decline since 1996 and have decreased by 44% since then. [1] In 2015, the average life expectancy has gone up by 5 years worldwide, according to United Nations data. This increase is attributed to a number of factors, one of which is a healthcare system that is constantly improving and providing broader coverage and access.
The number of Americans who avoid unnecessary ER visits has increased significantly in the past decade. The Affordable Care Act, implemented in 2010, has dramatically expanded Medicaid coverage to millions of Americans. This increase in prevention has lowered the number of ER visits as people are no longer uninsured and able to get regular preventative care before they require more serious treatment at ERs. Since more people have been insured via Medicaid, patients no longer need to visit the ER for basic issues that can be treated by less expensive primary care physicians.
The American Health Care Act, or Trumpcare, will be a mission to dismantle the Affordable Care Act. Many Americans are worried that if this bill passes, it will cause a large number of people to lose their health insurance. The goal of Trumpcare is to create a system in which insurance companies would be able to charge more for those with pre-existing conditions in an effort to cut down on ER visits and preventative care. [2] This bill would also allow insurers to deny coverage because of pre-existing conditions, which they currently cannot do under current law as long as they follow federal guidelines.
The United States National Institutes of Health has many studies that demonstrate how healthcare professionals can better prevent and treat diseases. One study shows how healthcare professionals can decrease the rate of kidney disease. In 2010, about 600,000 people had end-stage renal disease (ESRD), a type of kidney failure that requires dialysis. The study shows the results of treating patients with early ESRD within three years of the diagnosis. By cutting down on the time that it takes to diagnose kidney failure and start treatment, patients have a higher chance at living a full life. This decreased treatment leads to lower healthcare costs, as fewer people require dialysis each year.
By reducing preventative care and increasing ER visits, this bill would lead to more deaths than necessary if it passes due to lack of primary care physicians and access to specialty care. There are many health centers across the U.S. that cater to these populations and provide quality care at a lower cost than local hospitals. These hospitals and clinics successfully deliver health care without putting cost over quality. Hospitals and clinics such as these are a great way to reduce ER visits by providing low-cost primary care to those who do not have easy access to healthcare otherwise.
There are many other ways that the Affordable Care Act has improved quality of life for Americans, but these two examples provide a starting point for how technology can be incorporated into our healthcare system in order to improve quality of life for all Americans.

Conclusion
Healthcare is a very complex issue that affects all Americans. Politicians, such as Donald Trump and the Republicans, claim they will take care of the problem by removing Obamacare, which they admit has flaws in its current state. They also claim to have a personalized healthcare plan that will provide all Americans with insurance. Both politicians and citizens who advocate for their plans state that money matters in healthcare now more than before due to the great cost of specialized treatments and machinery. Although it is important for healthcare to be affordable for everyone, it should not be at the cost of sacrificing quality of life, especially if prevention methods are available.
