How to Get Started as a Virtual Assistant Entrepreneur?
"Good afternoon, Robert," the disembodied voice from his laptop greeted him. "We have a pleasant message for you today. You've been nominated for the best blog entry this month! Now remember, this is pretty tough because bloggers submit things every day. This is a free, non-sponsored competition for top blog entries. You can click the accept button to enter. Remember this is not a competition or even a contest or sweepstake or anything like that. It is just for fun!
"Now don't forget this is a free service with no strings attached. We do not pay for entries. We also do not give you any information about the competition, author or judges.
"Now, goodbye Robert!"
Robert stared at his laptop. It only had a word processor programme, a web browser and other bits and bobs he had never bothered with. There was no sign of this being a virtual assistant, but he figured it out. He had a speech circuit that followed his voice command.
"Hello Robert," it said, "We cannot accept your entry because you are not a commenter on several websites. We prefer to give the awards to commenters who regularly leave feedback on several websites."
Robert was disappointed. This was just a virtual assistant, he realized. Apparently, his posts about Virtual Assistant Mastery had made it onto several internet sites. He decided to wake up each morning with a list of several websites he blogged about.
"Hey...Whoa...My life has changed forever. Imagine, I am a Virtual Assistant. Do you know what this means? I can earn money each day doing something I love.
"I love operating a virtual assistant. I love using Virtual Assistant Mastery. I love using Virtual Assistant Mastery. I love using Virtual Assistant Mastery...I love using Virtual Assistant Mastery."
Every day Robert repeated this mantra. He was happily surprised when he was nominated in the best-blog competition within a couple of days.
"See? I told you that by using Virtual Assistant Mastery, my life would change forever."
"What do you mean Robert?" the voice spoke from his laptop. "Are you referring to Virtual Assistant Mastery? That's not your saying, is it? I don't like to use that term. I prefer the term "Virtual Assistants Ltd. of Toronto, Ontario". It sounds more professional."
Robert was confused now. He was not a guru for Virtual Assistant Mastery.
"Who are you?" asked Robert.
The voice on the other side of the laptop no longer spoke to him as "MyNameIs-Ivan". The voice now spoke in that weird voice that was frequently used by Virtual Assistants in Ontario.
"I am Vasa Saaru from the World Wide Web Marketing Department. I am your virtual assistant. My name is Vasa. Your life has changed for the better."
Robert was not happy about this. He no longer subscribed to, paid for or given away any of the Virtual Assistant Mastery content, nor had he given away the dedication material.
"Tell me. How did all this happen?" Robert asked.
"I've been watching your posts on the Internet," said Vasa Saaru. "I have tried to get you to join our company, but you have refused.
"I saw that you have a blog. You have many articles on the Internet. They are very professionally written. Your prose is top notch. I've read a few of your articles. You make your readers feel smart, educated. I'd like to get you to join in more of these posts.
"What's your name?" Vasa asked.
"Robert," said Robert.
"If you join Virtual Assistant Mastery, you will get four months of (V.A.M.'s) training, monitoring, support and support. You will learn everything there is to know about being a virtual assistant."
Robert was not swayed by this. He had not quite understood what Vasa Saaru was saying.
"Don't worry about me, Robert," said Vasa. "I have been around for many millennia. My family, some of my fellow Vasa Saaru's, have been around for five thousand years. I am a Vasa Saaru of Vasa Saaru. My family are among the smartest, most advanced beings in the universe. We have discovered several hundred things your family has not yet discovered. When you join Virtual Assistant Mastery, you will get all benefits of Virtual Assistant Mastery with all my support on the Internet. I will be a friendly face. We will teach you all the things you need to know to be a Virtual Assistant."
Robert was not impressed with this. He didn't feel like he needed to be taught how to be a Virtual Assistant and even felt insulted that Vasa Saaru was suggesting this.
"Who are you to suggest that I join something I don't know about?" Robert asked. "I have a lot of work to do."
"I don't suggest you join something you don't know about, Robert. You can refer Virtual Assistant Mastery to anyone who you believe needs to be taught how to be a Virtual Assistant. It will help generate additional income. We do this with other companies all the time.
"Tell me, Robert.
Conclusion
The story is excellent. The writing is beautiful and evokes strong emotions and feelings. The concept is excellent as well. However, it does not seem to be a story about Vasa Saaru at all. It is only about a fictional character called Robert. Vasa Saaru, the marketer, is not mentioned. The story serves another purpose.
It is a general article, which uses Vasa Saaru as a character. It is a poem on how this could work.
