"What makes the Internet so fascinating is that, in a world where human beings have so much power and influence, we have so much powerlessness. DVRS (Doctor of Veterinary Science) Degree for Registered Nurses? Does that make any sense?   The U.S. Department of Labor has classified registered nurse aides as medical technicians, but not as medical technicians OR registered nurses. It turns out that in some states, a nurse can get a Doctorate of Veterinary Science (DVRS) and be called a doctor, yet still be considered a medical technician. "I am grateful to have the opportunity of being part of the Grand Canyon Campus nursing program. As I am moving into my third year, I am able to see many different aspects of patient care and have been given the chance to use these skills in clinical situations. The program is thorough, but with great professors that are always willing to answer questions, even after hours. I believe there is no other nursing program in the area that provides a better atmosphere."
"I have been a student at UNLV's School of Nursing for five semesters, and it has been an amazing experience! The curriculum is well designed, and the faculty are superb. This school is full of passionate nurses who are doing meaningful research. One of my future goals is to participate in research with Dr. Palmer on a project looking at families who have children with autism and how they cope with the diagnosis. My classmates have become like family as well. The environment at UNLV's School of Nursing has helped me grow personally and professionally. It has made me realize that I want to work with children and family, and I am so excited to see where my journey will take me!"
