Overcoming Unemployment In A Crowded Marketplace

Overcoming Unemployment In A Crowded Marketplace

In the current job market, more than 27 million Americans were without a job in 2015. And while unemployment benefits have been extended, it is still not enough to make ends meet. However, there are strategies you can implement to make yourself more competitive in this environment and find a new position that's right for you.

Here are some tips to get your resume noticed:
Endorsements are an excellent way to show employers why their company's mission aligns with your future goals and values. You should also include professional affiliations or memberships on your resume; these help demonstrate that you have an active network of connections within your field of work. Be sure to write an accomplishment-based cover letter that explains why you are a good fit for the position. Look for recruiters who are connected with your desired company; there tend to be more opportunities because the company looks to recruit people through a third party before their own HR department. Volunteer at a professional organization within your industry in order to expand your network and show that you are committed to becoming involved with the industry's community. If relevant, include a portfolio of work samples with your resume – especially if you have never been asked to submit previous work as part of the application process. Take freelance jobs or side gigs on websites like Fiverr, Upwork and TaskRabbit while also applying for new positions through more traditional channels. While you are building up a relevant portfolio, use social media as a tool to post informational content that can be searched and shared, thus giving yourself the opportunity to be found. Many companies will take a passive approach with regards to social media if they don't see that your presence is transferrable within the field. Use online networking sites like Linkedin to expand your personal network. Make sure that you include information on the type of position you are applying for and how they are looking to fill it. This will give them an idea of what skills you have and whether or not they could employ those skills once hired.
One of the biggest mistakes people make when looking for a job is not taking the time to prepare themselves. When you have a plan in place, you can devote all your time and energy towards landing a new job.

The U.S. Senator from your state determines which federal programs and offices receive funding. Many federal agencies and departments that fund job seekers through their grants and contracts have to be approved by the U.S. Congress, where the Senate represents your state in Washington D.C. All federal funding runs through the Senate, so if you are looking for a job in a certain program or department it helps to know if your Senator is present or not and what their voting record is on the issue of funding.
In addition to the official website of your Senator and other states' Senators, you can also find out more about a particular bill by using GovTrack.us . This is an online database that allows you to track bills that are before the Senate Appropriations Committee or in the House or Senate itself. You can see the status of each bill, who introduced it, who sponsored it and when each vote happened – even if they passed with a voice vote.

A Blogger's Review : "I am writing this review because I believe tutoring services deserve recognition. I was looking for a math tutor and after reading positive reviews about Boston Math Tutor, I decided to give it a try. I arranged for a tutoring session with my first priority regarding the scheduling of the meeting (Timing). After securing a convenient time, we started working. My tutor was patient, knowledgeable and showed me the exact steps in solving the questions. The way he presented information was helpful and as they say practice makes perfect; I am sure I will improve with each session."
