Postcard Sharing, Anyone?!

 Postcard Sharing, Anyone?!

It's the latest trend to have everyone share photographs of themselves on social media with one another by sending postcards. These cardboard documents feature an interesting photo and text with a personal message on the front and return address on the back. It is considered a great way for friends, loved ones, and people in your life who are far away to stay in touch. Of course, there are many more reasons why you would want to enjoy this new trend.
As mentioned, postcards make for a great social media sign. If you want to be able to add a personal touch to your photos or status updates, then this is the latest thing you should look into. They are also great if you send something that hasn't been put up by your friends or family on Facebook or Twitter. You can always include them as a secret note in an email you send out. You can even carry them around in your purse and use them if they are important enough (or cute enough).
The best part about these cards is that they are small and easy enough to carry around with you all day long (no pun intended). You can take it to your office or school and have a laugh with co-workers after lunch or during the coffee break. You can also show them emails you receive from family members and loved ones who are not physically present when you use the card. Think of it as a mini souvenir from whoever you are sharing with on social media.
How do you get your hands on these wonderful cards? First of all, ask for one from whoever is going to be sending it out (hasn't made one yet). They have plenty of designs online that they can choose from when making the card itself. It's best if they can make their own since it will be more personalized than what someone else would make for them. If they already have a design, then have them send it to you so you can print it out. Make sure they send the image to you in the right resolution since it might be hard to read if it isn't clear.
There are also plenty of sites that offer these cards and even help out with the designing process. They offer an online template which can be customized according to your needs. Whether that means trying out different fonts, color schemes or backgrounds, this should be your first stop if you want quick access to hundreds of designs.
If you don't mind paying for pre-made designs, there is a wide array of card templates available at QuickCardMaker . You get to choose your design and pay a one-time fee for their site to host it. You can also get your card mailed right away, but it will be in a separate envelope than the postcard itself.
Either way, this is a great trend that should be making its way through social media circles everywhere!

It's been one of those weeks where I wanted to come home and have a fan on all week. In addition to that, it's been one of those weeks where I've been excited to shoot photos and share.
I love sharing what I'm up to with my viewers and followers on social media, but I also love
showcasing my adventures here on my blog. Here are just a few of the things that have caught my eye this morning:
Popular community website Surpression has added new features for their blogging platform. They are offering a free .com domain name at the end-of-month promo, which is pretty awesome. Head over to their blog if you'd like more details!   The new is one of the top selling digital cameras for a reason. It is easy to use, and it takes great shots! I was able to take some photographs of one on display at a local store. It makes for a beautiful shot.

I've had the pleasure of attending the 2013 Bloggers Ball for the past two years, and I can say that it's been a fun event each time. This year's event was held on September 27th at Pier 59 Studios in New York City, NY. It was one of the funnest times I've had in a long time.
I'm usually pretty self-centered, but for two days there were so many people who loved to talk with me about all the things that I do. I love hearing about what other people are doing or for blogging and social media tips. Talking about what I love about blogging or photography helps keep me going, too.
I think the best part of the event was getting to meet so many new people from all over the world. I didn't know anyone there, but within a month of them seeing my blog posts and social media updates, we'd become buddies. It was really cool to see friendships blossom out of nowhere at a ball where everyone is fairly similar in age and career.
I'm glad that I got to check out this awesome event again. The next one is on October 18th in New York City, NY at Pier 59 Studios. If you're interested in checking it out, please email me at Caitlin@CaitlinFoggPhotography .com! I'd love to have you there!

I know it's been a long time since my last blog post. Let me just remind you all that I am a full-time, professional blogger and social media manager. I work 50 hours a week, and when I'm not at work, I'm working on my blog or other social media accounts.
Here are 16 things I've been loving this week: 1. A new posting schedule! I think it helps to keep me organized and on top of my blogging game. It will probably help you, too. Make sure to check out the new look of my blog, as well! 2. This super-cute collage made by my boyfriend's sister for us for our anniversary! She is a total artist and has a great potential for a career in design or illustration. I love seeing her work! 3.

Conclusion: My eyes are always bigger than my belly. 4. I love being able to take photos at night in the city! It's always difficult, but I love the added details that come out in the photos. 5. The new Starbucks drinking mugs that you can get from your favorite local coffee shop! They are super cute and a great way to show off a new design each month! 6. Trying out different red lip colors for the fall season! 7. Adorable hairstyles in magazines, especially when they're free (I'm looking at you, Teen Vogue). 8. Ranging through my clean closet slowly, making sure nothing was left behind! 9.
