15 Marketing Ideas You Can Start Today

When it comes to marketing, there are numerous techniques which can be easily applied to increase profits by including market research, direct mail campaigns, discounts, coupons, promotional events and many more. go on vacation. It turns out they can be very personal - we had one addressed just to us or something like that once, which is just incredible when we've never met somebody in person before.

I've sent some postcards myself, but I don't think I've ever kept them. Postcards are much too valuable to be ignored and forgotten, so they need to be kept somewhere very visible! They can also look quite nice as decoration as you can see.

If you're curious about the process of creating these postcards, the designer at Cards & Pockets has  a post  with more details on what went into their design and selection of images. This is a great website to check out for some other cool designs and also to browse their entire stock.

I have several that I have picked up from other parts of the world (Rome, London etc) but my favorite is the one below featuring Prague (with a cheeky cat underneath)... and another in the UK. Reply Delete
'There are postcards from here from the late 50s, too - I remember seeing them as a little kid," said Postmaster Mike Waite on that city's website . "This was when we had about 30 years of postcards in our book." 'These aren't just any old postcards, however. They're letterpress prints designed by artist/printer Scott Stowell and printed by local foundry Martin Kelly at Philadelphia-based MacDowell Art Prints , which uses an ink-jet print press. The prints are printed using a handmade press that has been used since 1891 to print documents, magazines, and books. The press, which dates back to 1891, was used to print documents and books before the digital revolution hit the publishing industry in the late 1990s. '"It is more difficult to set up the alignment just right because [the press] has been sitting there for years," MacDowell said of using this old printing device. 'In addition to a design featuring a signature shot of the U.S. Capitol building and largely black-and-white photo of Washington's monuments, each card features an illustration of kids playing in an area surrounded by trees." The postcards you chose were amazing... I have one from Berlin where I was born and I also received some postcards from Lisbon... Reply Delete
I have several (my favourites are the one's of London and Prague). I think it's great to hold a piece of a city in my hands after having been there for a few days. It's like leaving an indelible impression on your brain. Reply Delete
I was expecting this post to be entirely about France, but I'm really glad that it's not! Reply Delete
My favorite is the postcard of the Greek Islands. Reply Delete
The postcards from Singapore and Malaysia are lovely. Reply Delete
There's a great store in the Middle East - Dubai I'm told - called 'Cards & Pockets' and they do wonderful letterpress work. Reply Delete
a lot of the post cards I've seen are touristy, but this one of the Dutch city Leeuwarden is beautiful. Reply Delete
I've found most postcard selections on the Internet, but there is actually a store (in Barcelona) called "Cards & Pockets" that has some awesome ones as well.

Conclusion:
Postcards are still very popular, but their popularity is now declining.  The purpose of a postcard is to convey a message or to make an impression.  With technologies such as email and text messaging, it's easier to communicate digitally. The act of sending a postcard also conveys that the recipient has been chosen over email or text messages because you have sent them a card.  It is like sending a thank you note and it seems more personal than writing words on the computer screen.
What makes these cards so special?  A combination of design, color, texture, embossing and printing techniques can all make these postcards stand out, sometimes in a good way and sometimes bad way.
