Postcards Straight To Your Mail

 Postcards Straight To Your Mail

The postcard is an undelivered message, its recipient unknown. But what if you could send a postcard straight to your mail box? That’s the goal of Postcards Straight To Your Mail, a service where you can send yourself a beautiful, hand-drawn postcard from anywhere in the world. It’s like sending mail to yourself, but with access to any postal address. Read more about it here.
My entry for the "Postcard Challenge" this month.
-This submission is for the contest hosted by postcards4u, where you can submit postcards from countries all over. If you would like to participate, please check out their contest page.  Submission guidelines can always be found there as well. Also," a 12x12 version of this postcard can be found on my gallery here  (Please note that I have had this postcard printed on both sides, so PLEASE don't copy it to the other side, as it has no real reason to be there.)
-This submission is only a representation of what my entry will be like. I will be uploading new entries every couple weeks with different postcards; so make sure you come back next week or follow my blog for updates on upcoming posts.  I will also have the link to follow me on TWITTER up above.
-Disclaimer: This contest is open internationally and it is not organized by any postal services in particular. This is a contest organized by the site, postcardsforu.com, and all submissions will go to them (and me) for judging.
-The contest rules can be found here . -Sign-Up for the Postcard Challenge can be found here ! Enjoy!
Resident: Dear Mr. _______, We regret to inform you we are unable to deliver your item at this time, as there is no proof that the sender was an actual resident of the United States. If you have proof of existence and residence in the United States, please send us a letter containing your address (mailbox number or street name), along with any other information we may require. Thank you for understanding and good luck! P.S. If you are from California and claim to be from anywhere else but California, you will be fined more than most people make in two months.
P.S.   If you are from  Washington D.C . and claim to be from anywhere else but Washington D.C., we will not bother to look for the proof required for delivery. Your postcards will not be accepted at this time.
PPS: If your address is within our jurisdiction, congressional letterhead will suffice as proof of address; thus, sending us a letter containing "congressional letterhead" will suffice as proof of residence (although unsuccessful postcard senders that can read will have no such excuse). PPS (2): If your name does not end in the word "USA," we will assume you are not a resident of the United States and your postcard will be rejected. Sorry, your address cannot be found within our jurisdiction.
Shipping: We can only ship to street addresses and tracking numbers are required from all addresses. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we must comply with USPS rules. Please do not send letters to us that say "Let's See If I Can Get It To You" or "To Whom It May Concern." (Sorry for the terms but it's part of a special alphabetical list I made up. If you don't know, you're better off not knowing.)

I've seen many different wild and interesting places in my travels. But with every city comes a different destination, and a different view. In my own little town I can see the water from the train, but only while it's moving. The buildings are often flooded with tourists who marvel at the views of downtown that they can only get here in Water City. They are mesmerized by the sights that surround them: the shops and cafes, the river, and even the traffic. The city is filled with different sights and sounds, and I love every part of it.
I've also made it out of Water City, which is just as beautiful as can be. It's surrounded by hills and green fields, but there are limits to what one can see from a speeding train; well, from a train that cannot go more than 55 miles per hour anyway. I've been traveling across the entire nation for many months now; in fact this is my first visit to America for real.
I have traveled through many different places in America: Oklahoma is probably my favorite place so far. The countryside is beautiful, the people are friendly, and the children are still adorable. I've been to Wisconsin, which was largely the same but with more cows. The "W" in Wisconsin is actually worth seeing because it's one of the biggest things there; it stands out beautifully against the blue background. Oklahoma has a lot of "O's" and "K's," even in other states as well, but I admire them all for their size.

Conclusion: If a traveling postcard gets stuck in Water City for some reason, it can only be delivered to a mailbox.
I'm not sure if that's my home address or not, but I do get mail at that location.
Then again, if you were to send me a postcard from Water City, it would say the same thing; because I could only retrieve the card from my home.
If you want to know the story behind this postcard and why I've decided to draw a picture of Postcards Straight To Your Mail instead of any of the other thousand things I've seen in this country (yes, they are all different due to differing states and regions), then please click here .
