Promote Quickly & Easily With The Two-Step
You’ve made a great first impression and you’re moving along swiftly, but one issue is getting in your way. Promoting your business can be a slow and tedious process, no matter how good you are. Fortunately, there are two easy steps you can take to quickly get the ball rolling!
First of all, establish an email list from which potential customers might sign up for offers. Secondly, make sure that everyone who signs up gets their first incentive – anything from a free ebook to an exclusive discount code! You'll soon see traffic shoot up and the sales begin to pile in!
Today we're going to show you exactly how this is done so that you can start promoting your business right away.
Step 1 – Establish an Email List
This may seem like an obvious first step, but to a lot of business owners, email marketing is the bogeyman. They think it's complicated and something to be feared, but nothing could be further from the truth. Start today by having your visitors sign up for your email list right here on your site. Install a plugin such as Mailchimp or Aweber and make sure everyone gets their first incentive as soon as they sign up! This is particularly important if you're using a plugin that requires visitors to sign up before they can see additional content on the page (such as EasyAzon).
Step 2 – First Offer: Free Book
If you have a book on your topic, give it away as a free ebook. If you don't, consider writing one! The book doesn't have to be super long, but it should cover the basics of your niche and be easy for someone to digest in a short amount of time. This is also a good opportunity if you want to try out a few different sales pages before deciding on an affiliate offer or your own product. Give away the book as an incentive and then track who buys and cancels through the affiliate link. Take note of who is buying and why. This will give you valuable insight into what people are interested in, which could help you with marketing later on.
Step 3 – Email Subscribers
Now that you've got an email list and your first book is free for subscribers, send an email informing them that they can get more information about the next book or freebie by signing up for a free report. Make sure you mention that there is a money back guarantee if they are not 100% satisfied. Give them the next details from Step 1 so they will know how to proceed if they decide to sign up (before they see your offer!).
Step 4 – First Incentive
Repeat step 1, this time offering an incentive to those who sign up. You can use any of the same incentives as Step 1 and 2 or create your own. For example, if you're a mortgage broker, consider offering a free mortgage calculator as an incentive! Or maybe you have a program that offers a 100% risk-free guarantee just like the old telephone companies used to do. Why not give away something related to that?
Step 5 – Second Incentive
Now send the person who signed up a second email via their email inbox, telling them they are on the front page and that they should see what options are available from Step 1. If they verify their email, they'll have the option to buy one of your offers. Ideally, you want them to get this second incentive and then decide if they want another product or what you're offering.
Step 6 – Promote!
That's it! You've done everything you need to do in order for your website to quickly capture and convert leads into paying customers. Now all you have to do is promote it through a few simple steps and watch the money come in. There are a number of ways you can promote your business online such as Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, Twitter ads as well as affiliations with other businesses in your niche so that they can mention your business on their website.
Having an email list is a must for any business, especially those that sell their products or services online. The next time you find that you have more than enough visitors leaving your site, stop and ask yourself whether it's because you didn't sell anything or if it's because your site was uninteresting. It may be both!
