##Homework/Assignment/Task
Compare and contrast your opinion of two video games: World of Warcraft & Star Craft 2. (Please note, you can use a magazine article, internet-based review or your own knowledge to complete this assignment.)
Write a report for a local business about the best ways to advertise on Facebook.
Make sure that you include insights from your own experience (for example, if your family owns a restaurant, share with me the best marketing strategy used)
Also included in this report should be any other forms of promoting that would benefit the company. You can use Google for research by searching:
"How to promote on Facebook?" and "How businesses use Facebook" It might help to search for articles from CNN and Huffington post. There are also several blogs dedicated specifically to tips on social media management and monitoring.
Select a few articles that you feel would contribute to the success of your report.
Please ensure that they are original and not copied from other sites.
Once you have selected your articles, write a report on the relevant information. (Use APA format and include quotations.)
Email me your report at: dean@deanhackingermma.com and I will verify the author and post it on my blog.

##On a Personal Note
There is no doubt in my mind, that technology has changed our society, but I have noticed all too often that social media has become an ADDICTION and an escape from reality. Too many young people depend on technology to interact with their friends and family members. I find it sad to see young kids scrolling aimlessly on their phones . . . when they could be out enjoying life. You owe it to yourself to experience the world around you!
I can't wait to write with you again!

I encourage you to do some research on this topic . . .
***Please note: Because of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, people are sharing personal information in greater quantity. Many times this information is incorrect. It is important that you check the facts before you share any personal information (especially on blogs). ***
"Social media can be more addictive than drugs" - Science Daily
The following infographic was shared with me by my friend, Mr. Dale Nix. He provided the image in order to demonstrate the power of social media. I believe that it perfectly illustrates the effects that technology has had on our society . . . and the world.

I chose to share this infographic with you because I think it is important for people to understand just how powerful social media has become. People are spending more time on these sites than ever before! I find it scary that so many people are looking at their phones and not paying attention to what is going on around them (all while they are driving!!). Please make sure you pay attention to what is going on around you . . . when you are out with your friends, walking down the street or crossing the street.
You will be missed, Mr.
Conclusion
My friend and I were talking the other day about how social media has changed the world. We both agreed that it has completely altered how people communicate with each other. We are at the point where everyone is connected to everyone else – through our phones, computers, tablets and even televisions. It makes sense that as technology evolves so does society . . . but it scares me at times.
In this report you have read about several initiatives that are currently taking place in business and schools around the country. I feel confident that these initiatives will continue to expand as they become more accepted by the public.
