 Various Ways of Printing Posters

One of the great things about posters is that they can be used in a variety of ways. Whether you have kids with an upcoming project or you just want to spruce up your bedroom, posters are a versatile and inexpensive way to increase a space’s functionality.

There are three main ways to print posters: on paper, fabric, or vinyl. There are also combinations of these techniques. For example, you can put a poster on fabric and then put it in a frame, or you can put the poster on paper and then put it in a frame.

When printing posters on paper, use either regular or fussy cut paper. This gives you more options for trimming when framing your poster. The other reason to use fussy cut paper is that it’s a little easier than regular paper to work with when cutting around the edges of the poster. If you are planning to frame your print, try to get at least two pieces of lightweight cardboard (available from most office supply stores). Then take your printed piece of art and lay it flat on the cardboard. Cut all four sides, and voila! You have your very own poster. Most likely, though, you’ll want to add a border to your poster so that it looks nice and clean for framing.

If you want to print posters on fabric (or if you want to print a poster on paper and then place it on fabric), you’ll need transfer paper. Place the transfer paper over the printed poster and iron the paper until the transfer is set. If doing this over fabric, use a press cloth to protect the back of the printed material. Then cut around edges with an exacto knife or box cutter.

The last way to print a poster is probably the least common, but it’s fun and easy. If you have a large piece of poster board, you can print your poster directly on the board and then put it in a frame. Using different colored poster board can even add some variety to your finished product.

When choosing where to place your new posters, think about how they are being used. For example, if you’re making posters for kids who need something nice to present information (such as in a classroom or at school), they should be framed because the framing will make them more attractive, and more likely to be put on display. If you’re going to use a wall for your posters, make sure that the walls are nice and sturdy.

So, add some color to your room with graphic posters that can be used in a multitude of ways!
