3 Million Items and Counting, Bidville Becomes Big Business
Bidville has been on the fritz since it opened its doors in 2012. In a mere nine years, they have amassed well over 3 million items of auctioned items from all corners of the earth. They have representatives from 29 countries and North America on their staff to oversee the daily operations for their online auctions bustling with exceptional talent.
In order to keep up with constant demand and accommodate such an expansive market, Bidville decided that a new department store was necessary for them to stay at top of their game as one of America's fastest growing online retail options. They needed for a modern and technologically sound retail facility that would be able to handle the volume and traffic that come with such a business with such immense status.
Bidville has recently acquired Fort Worth based, store front auction house, Auctions of America. AOA is considered the largest franchised auction house in the entire nation. They now have over 70 locations across the country including Dallas, Ft Worth, Chicago and Los Angeles. This move will allow Bidville to expand even further into their search for their "Total World Auction.
The new location will have a focus on antiques as well as other unique collectibles. The facility is being created in conjunction with their new department store and will be contained within their headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The Fort Worth team plans on helping to scout locations for the new stores which could be rolled out as soon as this summer.
"We have so many active and interesting items that we wanted to make sure that the public was able to see it all," said Mr. James Steele, Bidvilles Chief Marketing Officer, "Fort Worth has such a wonderful history of antique stores, we feel its a perfect fit for what we are trying to do. We hope to continue our expansion strategy and model it after the Old Towne Lakewood and Bishop Arts area. The plan is to roll out new locations by months end, each with their own unique microcosm of antique treasures."
According to their official press release, AOA will be opening up 2 more locations in the areas of Dallas and Los Angeles over the next 12 months as well. They expect to have a total of 25 locations open by year end with 50 more on the docket for next years expansion plan. Each facility will have a diverse assortment of both new and used goods for customers locales but will be able to facilitate all-online auctions as well.
"Our primary focus will be antiques," said Mr. Steele, "We have items from the Civil War on up to old farm equipment and collectibles in between."
The new store front auction house will be open Monday-Saturday ten am-4pm and Sunday 2pm-4pm. The AOA location will be located in the Main lobby of the Bidville HQ building. The location was purchased from the Real Estate arm of AOA and is expected to open this fall at the same time as Bidvilles new department store.
AOA has been a staple in Fort Worth since 1972 when they opened their first auction house at 1617 Commerce St, Fort Worth Texas. They have since expanded from the original two auctioneers to over 70 locations in North America across their AOA, Auction Network and Auction Nation brands.
"We love the idea of expanding our brand," said Mr. Steele, "It allows us to stay in tune with our customers across a wide spectrum of demographics."
In addition to growing its retail brand, Bidville has recently announced its release of a new overhaul. The new page will be more aesthetically pleasing as well as easy to use by both buyers and sellers alike. This is one step towards becoming one of the most accessible auction sites in the country and it is hoped that this move will open up revenue streams for the company worldwide.
"We are trying to build Bidville into a full service alternative for people who don't want to deal with the retail outlets and auction houses of today," said Mr. Steele, "Bidville is one stop shopping."
Bidville has grown by leaps and bounds at an exponential rate since its inception in 2012. With AOA on board, they are expected to see an increase of over a billion dollars within their first year. This will put them within the top 5 online auction companies in all of the United States. Their revenue is predicted to double and triple over the next five years, leading towards a record breaking revenue projection by 2027.
