Access your Instant Messenger Chat History from Anywhere
When you're connected to your Instant Messenger program at all hours, it can be really helpful to have access to your chat history from anywhere. If you don't want to create and maintain a second profile with a different username, or spend the time copying over old chats when the new one comes in, doing it yourself is simple. Here's how!
First off, find out what application you're logged into by looking for an icon that looks like a person sitting at a computer (if in doubt). Next, go into Settings > Accounts or Accounts and Privacy > Download Your Data. In here you'll see your current log-in ID and password as well as any old chats accessible using this account. However, if you want to move these chats over to a new device, you'll need to know the data password (if applicable), which will come from your Instant Messenger provider. Once you have this, log into your new device and select the messages you want to export. On this screen check the box marked "Messages" and "Attach content from my old device." The data password information is entered under the Advanced Settings tab. Select "Import Data" in the next window and follow through until it's complete.
Voila! Your chat history will be transferred and available for use at anytime on your current device. If that's not enough, try creating a backup of your phone or tablet by visiting: www.android.com/backup. This will keep your data intact if you ever lose or have to replace your device!

Conclusion
As more parents begin to feel the pressure of keeping track of their kids' Internet activities, we are seeing an ever-growing number of parental monitoring tools and applications make their way onto the market. None have really been able to gain much traction, however.
The truth is that while they provide useful features to those who use them, they fail to meet the needs of most parents who actually want something more than just a simple monitoring solution. The unfortunate truth is that there's no perfect solution out there yet. Most services are as vulnerable as can be if your child has a friend over at their house or knows someone outside your neighborhood who has access to your child's account.
