Add Value to All You Do

Add Value to All You Do

This is a very simple post on how to add value to your life. It's a 12 step process, so expect it to be long. However, it's worth the read!

The quickest way to add value would be through performing tasks that others aren't willing to do. For example, your neighbor might not want to pick up their dog's messes and you will gladly help them out. Another thing you could do is volunteer at a local animal shelter and help care for stray dogs or cats. You might even get paid! The more you learn about new things and places the better opportunities will come your way."
I'm really late getting this blog post up because I'm working on my thesis paper anyways...
So here it is, on how to add value to all you do... 12 steps from my own experience how to add value to your life.
You must be strong enough to fight for what you want. You must be willing to say NO at times and never apologize for it.  Value comes from those who are willing do what few others will... The ones who are willing to step out of their comfort zone and try new things. The ones who are willing to earn their way towards the better things in life. We can achieve anything if we don't just set our minds on it, but work hard enough for it as well.
But the question for you is, what do you want to add value to? Lets do it.
I'll be writing more on this subject as time goes on.  In fact I have already started some other articles that will appear here in the coming days or weeks. Until then, see ya.

Just some simple tips to keep your computer safe. A lot of people don't think about security when it comes to their computers but it is very important. Some simple things you can do to protect yourself from the scum of society. This will be the first in a series of posts regarding protecting your PC and the information that you have on it.
Here's the first tip, Back Up Important Information.
I think this is the most important thing you can do. Why? Because you never know when your hard drive will just give out on you and crash, leaving your computer virus infested or even worse... You may get a nasty virus that starts to spread to other computers on a network. However secure your network is, it has to be able to hold up against attacks from intruders.
Your data can be recovered if your backup has not been affected by the same virus that damaged your computer. Anything stored on CDs or other storage media should be backed up as well as any software saved onto USB drives. It is important that you keep a copy of everything on your computer. How do you ensure that a virus doesn't spread to other systems? Just make sure they're all saved onto different hard drives or optical media.
I strongly recommend that you have an off-site backup of your data, this will keep your data safe in the event of a natural disaster or catastrophic event but only if you have an emergency plan in place. How do I back my up my information? I use Carbonite and Mega Backup (I don't recommend you use Mega Backup, in fact look for alternatives).
Carbonite is free, easy to use and it backs up all the information on your computer. It backs up your documents, pictures and other important files. I recommend the Kagi software for backing up your information. It's a great software package that not only backs up your computer but can also be used to share files between multiple computers.
Mega Backup is a paid backup program but it works great for backing up all of your critical data. It is 100% virus free, though you still need to make sure you have good backups on other systems in place in case one of the backups are infected with a virus... Just keep that in mind.

I'd like to thank the original creator of this article, Margarita at Margarita's Computer Security and Privacy Forums who posted it in 2005... I really hope you take these simple steps to keep your information safe and that it helps you stay protected from the scum of society.
Another good article on security and how to keep your computer safe, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/12/14/AR2010121402803.html
I add my own personal synopsis to this. Many people are fans of Norton or McAfee, these programs can't be trusted. Either way you're putting your information in the hands of a third party and that's no good.
What you need is a good anti-virus and anti-malware program... However I will give my opinion on which one is the best out there, Kaspersky . This software will protect your computer from all sorts of bad things. From spyware to malware, it's no joke and it does work very well. I highly recommend Kaspersky to anyone who owns a computer, it's a must have. I've been using it for almost two years now and I'm very happy with the results. Here's what two other websites say about Kaspersky:

Just remember, before you install any software onto your computer make sure you do your research first... If you choose to do business with McAfee or Norton their terms of service can be found on this link:  http://webcache.

Conclusion,
Thank you for reading this article. I hope you found it useful and found the information I have shared useful as well.
I really hope that everyone reading this would take precautions to protect their information and computer from being hacked, especially those kids on MySpace or Facebook (Haha, still a child though... I wonder how old he is in real life).
You should also be sure to keep up with software updates and not to click on links in emails. You should also only allow trusted contacts to add you via your email address and if something sounds too good to be true that's probably because it is...
Please share this article with your friends and family, any scrap of information can help prevent these issues from happening.
