The Background

In this day and age, it's rare for creative professionals to be able to do their job without the aid of some type of design software. Nearly every type of creative field that you can possibly think of now requires the use of some kind of design tool, and this means that there is a substantial market for them. As such, there are a ton of different solutions that you can choose from when you're in the market for one. But sometimes all it takes is one simple thing to make things a lot easier.

I have been working with fonts since I was in my mid-twenties. Back then, I used to struggle with getting fonts to work properly on the internet and I would spend hours trying to get certain things to look right. For some reason, it always seems like fonts are one of those things that are just not as easy as everyone would like them to be.

In my early days of website design, I had created a small library of websites that were in need of an ad campaign. Most of these sites were building websites for others, so what we needed was going to be placed in multiple web pages and different ad spots. This meant that it had to be a scalable solution that we could reuse across many different projects. It took me a while to get the ad campaign put together to my liking, however when I did it was very easy to update and reuse across all of these sites.

This is why I started looking at ways that we could make creating things easier. These fonts were getting used across twelve different websites, so they needed to be able to be used by our staff without having any issues. There are a lot of different ways that we could have gone about doing this, however the process was seriously streamlined once we started using an Advanced Font Viewer. For those who are unfamiliar with it, a font viewer is a tool that allows you to preview and edit your fonts before you put them on your site. This typically involves using the web browser that you're using to preview the font in question, and then modifying the font size and other settings in relation to what you see.

This means that when I was putting this ad campaign together, I didn't have to worry about changing fonts sizes or anything else across all of these sites—I could just simply change a single font name across all of these sites without needing to re-build anything else. Doing so saved me a lot of time, and I'm sure that it has saved my fellow designers a lot of time as well.

That's why I created an Advanced Font Viewer, as well as several other free tools—to help creative professionals save a ton of time when they're creating things. This post is just one in which I will be discussing what an Advanced Font Viewer is and how it can help save you time and make things easier to design. This post is also one in which I will be giving some free tools that you can use to create your own Advanced Font Viewers.

The Advanced Font Viewer

The Advanced Font Viewer is a free leverage that helps creative professionals design stunning projects with ease and efficiency. It's a powerful tool that allows you to use web fonts in the way that you need them to be used, and it saves you multiple hours each day when it comes to working on your projects. There is no software required to use this leverage—just a browser. The viewer works on Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, and Mac OS X. This means that there shouldn't be any operating system restrictions making this leveraging less than useful if there was one in the first place.

You can download the viewer from its homepage at http://www.fontmascots.com/advanced-font-viewer

How The Viewer Works

The viewer utilizes the Adobe Flash technology in order to separate the characters from the background of an image. This allows you to easily see what type styles that you're going to be able to use when designing your own websites, and it lets you customize them as needed—because sometimes things aren't always quite what you had expected them to be.

The viewer takes all of the fonts that you have installed on your computer and allows you to preview them without having to install any software whatsoever. In fact, there isn't even a need for a web browser plugin in order for this leveraging tool to work—it just works right out of the box.

One of the first things that you're going to do is to create a new project for yourself. You can then choose your project by selecting the projects tab. Once you have selected your project, all of the fonts in which you have on your computer are going to be placed in the font tab.

So how do you get everything set up? Well there's a few different ways that you can do it, but I'm going to focus on the one that I personally use. For example, if I want to know what sizes are available for a certain font style then I just highlight them and click on them.

Conclusion

While it's true that using an Advanced Font Viewer isn't going to make your design career instantly easier, it will definitely help save you time. How much time will depend on how much you're using fonts, but I highly recommend that you at least check out this leveraging tool. It could just be exactly what you need in order to start designing better and more efficiently.
