Aida And Dagmar - Models For An Advertising Agency

Aida and Dagmar are two models for an advertising agency. Let's look behind the scenes of how their day unfolds engaging with the camera, meeting creatives, and taking a break to enjoy some coffee.

The models' day starts out before dawn at the agency where they meet up with fellow model friends to be fitted with wardrobe for the day's shoot. Once they're fitted, they head over to set to spend time talking through different poses while getting their hair styled just right. From time-to-time as Aida and Dagmar move around on set, one of them may stop in front of a white sheet where a photographer is taking photos to test lighting under different conditions (e.g., cross-lighting). The photographers and the creative team's efforts to get this work done before the models arrive and pass through their line of sight, so there isn't any delay getting started once everyone is on set.

As there are only two models and three brands that are being presented in this day's shooting, they're only in front of the camera for one segment of the day. Toward lunch time, they head back over to their agency headquarters and have a light meal with other models after a shoot; where they talk more about what went well during the day, what didn't go so well (and how it might be rectified), and ideas on how to make all future shoots even better.

After a quick meal, they head back to the agency in preparation for their next shooting session. Hair and makeup are refreshed while they step into wardrobe appropriate for each brand being showcased. One of the other models at their agency is also joining them on set today, so there's a little more chatter as they get themselves into makeup (applying different kinds of foundation and lipstick to suit each brand's style).

The two models with their makeup artist head over to set where they get positioned in front of a green screen wall between two high-speed flashes. The model with her hairdresser and makeup artist also have to sit with their backs to the green screen wall so that the model adds hair and makeup elements as directed by the photographer. Since Aida and Dagmar are wearing simple necklines, they only have to keep their arms at their sides for a couple of minutes each before the shoot is over. So even though this day may seem like a lot of work, it's not that bad when you look at it as a whole.

This is what I wear when I'm modeling in the studio. Wearing my favorite pinstripe blazer from 8 Seconds ( http://www.8seconds.ca ) with a pair of ripped jeans and some of my favorite converse .
I really like shooting with two people, so here is a shoot that me and my friend Ashley did back in September for the blog http://www.missashleyrose.com/2013/09/self0portrait_shooting_with_.html
Even though these photos are posed and fake, they give us the chance to experiment with different poses and play around with lighting. I even got to play around with lots of different makeups, like this one.
This was my first shoot on a beach (where is this place???) so we got to get creative in the water too! Oh, and it had some awesome waves in it ;)
And since I'm a Virgo born in September, :) you can see our Virgo symbol here: http://www.missashleyrose.com/2013/09/virgo-vs-gemini-summertime.html

This is one of my favorite shots I shot this week . I loved getting to play with different lighting angles and was really happy with the outcome of it.

Conclusion

This post was about two photoshoots I went on for the blog Miss Ashlee Rose . For the first shoot I did with models Aida and Dagmar from the agency The Model Brand , we had a really fun day at a local beach. We dressed up in swimsuits and cover-ups with sunglasses and got to play around in the water. It was a nice day to play as we were all in our very comfortable swimwear. For this shoot, I was actually able to be a  little creative with my lighting as there wasn't too much available sunlight on our trip to the beach. The second shoot I did with model Cory Jaffer took place at an indoor studio at Fergies Loft .
