 Are You Flirting With Me?

Flirting is a part of human nature. Whether you are in the workplace or at a social gathering, flirting can make people feel good about themselves, and it's also an enjoyable activity for many. With that being said there is much to learn about what exactly constitutes as flirting and what responsibilities come along with it.

For example: It seems like a no-brainer that if someone says "Good morning" you should respond with "Good morning." However this isn't necessarily true. It's best to go with your own personal code of ethics when engaging in these types of exchanges; if someone doesn't respond well to this greeting than you may want to consider not trying again (but don't get discouraged by one bad response).
For many people flirting is an art, but it's very important to practice proper etiquette and not alienate anyone in the process. Like most things in life, flirting is a two-way street -- both parties involved have to have positive intentions that are mutually agreeable.
When someone displays a positive attitude toward you and your personality they are displaying positive intentions. If they're smiling and being genuine, then chances are they are receptive to your advances. The same goes for friendly body language; if you notice that the individual is standing closer than usual or making actual eye contact with you, this is a great sign that they're interested in getting to know you better.
Of course, there are times when intentions aren't so clear-cut. If you approach someone and they're either not interested or they're simply not being receptive, move along and try your luck with someone who will.
There are many reasons why a person may reject an advance from another individual, but you'll need to ask yourself some very important questions before approaching them in the first place, such as "Do I have time for another relationship? Do I have the energy to invest in getting to know someone else?" If the answer is no then you will want to hold off on making any approaches. However if the answer is yes then you should communicate your intentions and respect their wishes.
Don't try to guilt anyone into a relationship that they aren't completely comfortable with. Never try to engage with someone who has made their interest in you clear; this is just not ethical.
If you fail at flattering, don't be discouraged! Remember that flirting is supposed to be fun and it's an opportunity for two people to get to know each other better. You will never know if there's a spark of love between the two of you unless you take the chance in the first place.
You may feel a bit awkward the first time you initiate a flirtatious encounter, but once you do it a few times it will become second nature to you. If you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation, remember that everyone makes mistakes -- learning from these mistakes is part of the process.
"Flirting for Dummies" is an excellent resource for those who are looking to expand their knowledge about this fascinating subject. It offers tips on proper etiquette and provides summaries on proper behavior for people who are contemplating making advances on someone else.
With this book in hand you will be well on your way to becoming a pro at the art of flirting!

Conclusion:  Flirting is an art you have to master, and it is just not smooth talking...it's your attitude, tone and body language that can make someone fall in love with you at the end.   Flirting should be fun, don't force someone to like you because by doing so you might hurt them leading to a very bad impression.   In today's time nobody is forced or blackmailed into a relationship...so respect your peers choices. If a person likes flirting with you and they are not showing any signs that they want to be friend only then flirt back...flirting is just like pouring oil on water the more you do it the more it spreads.
