So I've decided to put together a post that I'm going to do every Friday titled "What's In Your Baggage" where I'll be taking a look at all the things that we are all carrying around with us that we're not aware of or haven't thought about yet. Some of them will be mental baggage, some of them will be emotional baggage, some of them will be physical, but all of it is weighing us down and keeping us from where we are trying to go. It is time to let the negative energy in our lives go. Further more, I'll also be taking a look at ways that we can get rid of that baggage and begin to change our lives for the better starting with this week's post. So without further ado, here are this weeks topics:
Physical Baggage:
1. Clothes: Now, I'm not saying that we need to become a nudist colony and start going around with no clothes on, but this is one area of our lives where we can let go a little bit. If you're like me, you have a mountain of clothes in your closet that you've never worn before. It's time to let go of the fact that somewhere out there, someone has the "perfect outfit" for every occasion. Buy less! Buy with purpose! As Iron Man says in the first movie when Tony asks him what he's wearing "Do I really look like I care?"
2. Shoes: Shoes are another great place to shop with purpose.
Conclusion:
I'm not saying that we need to be a stick up your ass type of person and let everything go, but if we can just take a little bit of that baggage with us when we leave the house in the morning, there will be an immediate change in our lives. We have more choices in life than we realize. Are you letting all of them go?
Emotional Baggage:
3. Identity: When I say identity, I'm talking about the way we think about ourselves. There are so many people out there who have it wrong and feel as if they are somehow less than others because they aren't wealthy or successful enough.
