Do You need a sexy company logo or would a stinker be more effective?

If you're in dire need of a logo design, do you go for a stinker or a sexy? This is not an easy decision to make. On one hand, if your product or service is sleazy and cheap, then the design should follow suit. You want the customers to be attracted to your business because they know it's not expensive and has no class or sophistication. There are plenty of logos out there that can serve as an example for this type of company, like "The Pink Pussycat Lounge." Unlikely someone would take this bar too seriously if its logo has cartoon cats on it.

However, if you're a reputable business whose product or service is classy and expensive, then it's better to make your logo sexy. You want the customers to see your company as classy and sophisticated too. There are plenty of logos out there that can serve as an example for this type of company, like "The Apple Store," which has a genuinely chic logo and design.

Unfortunately, there's no clear-cut answer when choosing between the two kinds of logos. A pornographic one could work well in a moment of desperation; but you'd be surprised how many businesses never get off the ground because they go with cheap and sleazy designs. Others are too highbrow for the customer to take them seriously, like "The Cook's Secret," which is a combination of elegant design and adult service.

What about you? What kind of business do you have? How does your logo look? Would a stinker be more effective or is it better to go with a sexy logo? Let us know in the comments!
