Will You Pass the Flinch Test?

This test is an easy and straightforward way to see if you are subconsciously afraid of a person or situation. Take the test and find out how your test results compare with the rest of North America.

If you're not willing to pass the flinching test, it may be time that you change some of your behaviors, thoughts, and habits that are making your life less enjoyable and fulfilling. If nothing else, this simple little test will give you something to think about for a few minutes.

Here are three simple steps to take the flinch test:
Hold out your hand, palm up. Place your other hand palm down on top of it. Have a friend or someone you can trust to not hurt you put their fist in the center of your open hand. How does this make you feel? Do you flinch? Do you want to hit their fist with your other hand (if it's a stranger)? If so, this is an indicator that you're afraid/threatened by this person/situation, and there's nothing wrong with that! Now repeat, but have someone do this who has hurt you before or someone who is a threat to you, like a criminal. Can you hold out your hand and not flinch? If so, then you are subconsciously willing to pass the flinching test. You are conscious of the person/situation and can see it for what it is, no matter how scary. If you're not capable of holding out your hand and not flinching, unless this person has hurt or threatened you in the past, then that's a different story entirely.

Conclusion

As far as body language goes, the flinch test has proven to be very, very accurate. This would make a good last test for people who are looking for a way to become more aware of their bodies, as it is an easy one. Not only can you use this knowledge to help you become more aware of your body and what it's telling you, but it can also help you when dealing with various situations in life. If someone has hurt or threatened you in the past and tries to hurt or threaten you again, they will fail the flinching test when they try to hit you with a fist.
