 Jollibee Franchise in the Philippines

If you're Filipino, chances are that you've eaten at Jollibee before. It's one of the most popular fast food chains in the country and they have over 2,000 stores worldwide. But what is Jollibee exactly? And why is it so successful? Read on to find out!

What is Jollibee?
Jolibee started out as a fast food restaurant with only four branches in Metro Manila established by Lily and Tony Tan Caktiong way back in 1975. The name "jolibee" was created by mixing up their two names: "Lily" and "Tony".
The restaurant was a big hit, and they opened more and more branches.
But then, in 1981, they encountered a major setback: the place burned to the ground.
But Tony encouraged his wife and they rebuilt Jollibee into something even bigger: a fast food restaurant with their own unique identity—different from their competitors.
With Tony's business experience growing up in McDonald's plus Lily's nagging for him to provide her with a comfortable life at home, he was able to create a new kind of fast food experience for Filipinos. The menu had Filipino specialties like spaghetti, hamburgers, chicken joy, jolly spaghetti – all these were branded uniquely as "Jollibee".
Jollibee became a franchise in 1985, with Tony as the CEO and Lily as the secretary-treasurer. Tony had to convince many people to invest in Jollibee, and they were able to raise enough money to open 10 new stores. At this point, they had 104 stores nationwide – a far cry from the four branches they started with only ten years ago.
Nowadays, Jollibee boasts more than 900 stores across the Philippines, more than 50 stores in Vietnam, and more on the way!
The company is now valued at $2 billion and is one of the most successful fast food chains out there.
Jollibee's Menu
Jollibee prides itself on serving Filipino specialties to Filipinos: and they do it really well!
Menu items include spaghetti, halo-halo, chicken joy, burgers (including the famous Yum Burger), fried chicken (Crispylicious!), and of course, the Jollibee Spaghetti. They also have burgers with a unique Filipino twist: the Champ, Cheesy Bacon Champ, and Spam Burger. The latest addition to their menu is the Chickenjoy with Rice—a huge serving of fried chicken with a scoop of rice on top.
They have a special breakfast menu as well, which includes favorites like the all-American Breakfast, Champ, and the Spamwich. And for dessert lovers, Jollibee's got you covered with their Chocomilk, JolliWaffle (stuffed with banana and drizzled with chocolate syrup), Fruit Salad Mixer (with or without jello or ice cream), or if you're feeling adventurous, try out their halo-halo sundae!
Diet Coke Philippines
For drinks, they have soft drinks (Coca-Cola products) and juices (Mizu Mixed Fruit Juice). There are also some healthier alternatives like the Diet Coke.
Jollibee's History
Jollibee started out in 1975 as a small restaurant owned by Tony Tan Caktiong and his wife Lily. Because they were both named "Lily" and "Tony," the name for their business was born: Jollibee ("Jolly Bee"). The name was coined from the combination of their two names.
The first Jollibee branch opened in Cubao X, Quezon City. It was a 20 square meter space which served only burgers and drinks. The menu also included spaghetti, halo-halo, Jolly Spaghetti and Jolly Hotdog.
The business grew and so did the branches. In 1981, the business burned down, leaving Jollibee with only four branches in Metro Manila.
The franchise really took off after 1985 when Tony Caktiong decided to franchise Jollibee. In the following years, they spread out across other parts of the Philippines. The company now has more than 900 stores, most of which are located in the Philippines.
Just this year, they partnered up with McDonald's in Vietnam and are set to open their first branch there soon. Jollibee didn't stop there—next year they'll be opening stores in Singapore and Malaysia.

The best part about this is that you are not starting a common food business - you are starting a Jollibee Franchise in the Philippines because it has that Filipino taste and it's really good, so you will do well with it and enjoy yourself. Just be sure to check out the Filipino taste as you customize it for your own brand, so that you are not copying or mimicking the brand because they really have that special taste of Filipino food and it's amazing. Do not be scared to change the name because names are so important in business, at least for a franchise business that will be in your name. But do not forget to make sure you have a good team who will help you in marketing it and making sure it does well.

cONCLUSION
Franchising is one of the best ways to make a business work because you do not have to work alone and you are able to ask for help from the franchiser company. There, you will be given all the help needed for your business and there, you can also get your brand out into the world in just a bit. It's a fast way of making a business go because if it's successful, it will be copied all over the place. If it fails, then take some time to think what went wrong before taking another chance with another brand but do not be surprised if your first try at a franchise goes well.
