Jollibee's Way of Advertising

 Jollibee's Way of Advertising

In the most recent news, Jollibee made an announcement that it would no longer use their famous jingles. This got people wondering what changes this would bring to the world of advertising. Jollibee has also already been announcing a change in their iconic owl mascot as well as revising their slogan "Joyfully Tempting Filipinos".

Why did they decide to do these things? Maybe it was because they wanted to more than just advertise its food. In response, many businesses have launched a new trend using the old tradition's popularity in advertising new services and products. This is a way for them not only to make more sales but also get ahead of competition. As they say, "the more you know, the more you win."

Below are some successful examples of how businesses have used jingle songs:

KFC uses their iconic jingle "ching-chong-ching" along with the famous slogan "Have it your way", an attempt to be a bit less intimidating to potential customers. Result: KFC has been one of the most profitable and successful quick service restaurants simply because of their creative strategy.

Pepsi uses its old jingle "dibdibidibdib" and in Spanish, they use old Spanish song called," Lagrimas y Dolores". The song talks about their brand and how people seem to fall in love. Result: Pepsi has been the most preferred drink of many and is known as the most popular soft drink around the country.

McDonald's uses "I want to be your friend, I'm lovin' it", a phrase that aims to show that even though sometimes we are too busy to talk, we can always communicate with one another through food. Result: McDonald's has been successful for providing quick and easy meals for families and individuals on the go.

Another example of an old song used in advertising is Kit Kat. Why is Kit Kat famous? Because of their jingle song that says, "Milky way", one of the most popular Japanese chocolate in the world. Result: Kit Kat has been a very successful product, thus leading to its popularity.

It is very obvious and apparent that businesses are now looking for new ways to beat competition. The old jingles and songs made way for a more sophisticated and entertaining advertising technique using new music or lyrics. In today's world of fast-paced living we need to adapt in order to conquer this competition and push past obstacles such as old traditions or cultural practices.

Jollibee has also produced many films and comedies using jingles and songs as well as shorts, which are shown on local television channels, such as Jollibee TV show, Food For All and Happy Tambayan, which is shown weekly on ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Channel in the Philippines (formerly known as ABS-CBN Afternoon Prime block).

Jollibee also had a program (The Jollibee Street Preachers) where they would always preach through songs and jingles. This was created to either inspire their employees or just to have fun. Many of the songs can be found on this Youtube Channel:

ABS-CBN (TFC)  is a Filipino television network owned and operated by ABS-CBN Corporation, one of the largest Philippine media corporations in terms of revenue and profitability . Its stations are primarily based in Metro Manila but also has stations across the country.

ABS-CBN started a show called "Kapamilya", which is a lifestyle program about people in their families. This show was created to compete with GMA Network but by then, it also became an important part of the network by bringing entertaining and interesting shows, which had a huge effect in showing that ABS-CBN was something worth supporting. Also, TFC wouldn't have been able to make it to the buzzsaw that GMA has become without TFC's great staff. The program quickly became popular despite its late start because of its catchy jingles and songs.

In conclusion, the jingles that we have been hearing for decades are now diminishing because of the arrival of more advanced forms of advertising. However, there are still some businesses that are holding on to the old tradition by very carefully combining both innovations and tradition. Jingles aren't used as much today but thanks to Jollibee, it has transformed from its traditional form into a brand new hip song full of catchy rhythms and words. Hopefully this will serve as an inspiration for all students who wish to be famous beyond their limits in school or outside school.
