 Pictures and Postcards: priceless possessions

You always think about how people who lose their possessions can be so devastated. You might worry that they won't remember anything or have the opportunity to put their 'priceless possession' in a keepsake box, but this is exactly what you should do with your postcards and photographs. Upload them onto a website like Invaluable where the market value of your pictures will far supersede any sentimental value. Once you've uploaded them, you can start to see what they're worth - and make some money out of them!

In this blog post, we'll talk about why saving spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel is not only time-consuming and inefficient, but also unreliable.

Start-up time: Saving the spreadsheet to your computer can take a few seconds, but it can be more than 20 minutes if you have a large number of sheets. The more spreadsheets you have in Excel, the longer it will take. The way I do this currently is to export all my spreadsheets to a folder on my desktop and then cut and paste. This is tedious beyond belief! There's no quick or efficient way of doing this.

Reliability: Unless you're happy to spend hours trying to transfer the information from different spreadsheets into one giant workbook, there is no reliable way of keeping track of your progress.

Difficult to keep on top of: If you want to add new spreadsheets, link them together and get your sheets looking neatly organised, you're going to have to spend more time keeping on top of your data. When I started using Google Sheets, I couldn't believe how easy it was to edit and add new rows. There's no need for a long Excel spreadsheet with multiple tabs. These days, it's all about collaboration and sharing information easily with others.

All in all...
If you want to save spreadsheets, the best way is to keep them in individual files. Just make sure that they're always saved in a safe place and that you absolutely know where they are at all times.

Conclusion:
I think Google Sheets is a better product for smaller projects because of the point I made above. You can cut down on the amount of time you spend on a spreadsheet and focus on creating something new by just creating new spreadsheets when you need one, without having to delete an old one. I also like the ability to save spreadsheets as templates so that you can quickly and easily recreate sheets that already exist. I have been using Google Sheets for several years and can't imagine working with Excel. It's not all perfect, though, as there is no way to keep your data organized unless you use Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet software that uses folders or other organizational structures such as csv files.
