Nokia phones have not been available in India since January 27, 2017, when Nokia's exclusive rights to sell their phones in India expired. Nokia phones are still available in Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and can be purchased through authorized retailers or at Nokia's online store.
In 2016, a commercial video was released by Nokia titled "A New Beginning" (alternatively called "The Journey Begins") to advertise the Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520. The video opens with a man in his apartment talking on the phone in a similar fashion to the original Nokia commercial while he is being watched by two women who are photographing him through their iPhones. He ends up throwing away his iPhone before stepping outside and walking towards where what looks like another 10-year-old Nokia phone is lying on the street. He picks it up, looks at it for a moment and then puts it back down again in an act of nostalgia and regret. The video then cuts to a monologue at the Nokia headquarters in Espoo, Finland, where the narrator summarizes Nokia's journey from 1998 to 2013. There are also scenes featuring the Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520 throughout the video.
The video was posted on YouTube on October 8, 2013 and has over 8 million views as of January 30, 2018. It was created by advertising agency McCann New York who also produced the original "Connecting People" commercial back in 1998.
The company used a tagline ""Connecting People"" until 1997 when it adopted ""Connecting People. It's What We Do.
