I'm a spy, and I need to be prepared... [ARTICLE END] I've been writing about gear for spies for nearly a decade. Starting out with  my spy weblog  The Spy Who Didn't Wear Glasses , which has deep roots stretching back all the way to 2003. My work was inspired by Ian Fleming and James Bond, as well as other prolific writers like John LeCarre (The Constant Gardener), John le Carré (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), and Piers Paul Read (A Great Deliverance). And those guys were just the tip of the iceberg. I've read almost every spy novel, from Ian Fleming to Robert Ludlum and John le Carré, and can rattle off chapter and verse of which gear characters used in each. I wrote a book on spy cameras in July 2010 and have written about spy gear in a range of publications (some for hire). I also love gadgets, so if you want to know what's new in spy technology or if you want to see what gadgets are available (like we do) you should visit our gadget blog: Spy Gear Blog .
