Title: Ten Things Foreigners Need To Know Before Moving To And Working In India  -   Blog Article By A Former U.S. Citizen On Moving To And Working In India

This blog entry has been written by a former green card holder/U.S. citizen who is currently living, working and raising his family in India. The author is a software engineer by profession and is able to work and live in India due to his job skills, international work experience and foreign language skills (English), which made him more marketable than many Indian professionals when it came time to choose the candidate for a job opening. However, he states that any skilled professional with foreign language skills could theoretically find themselves in the same position of him without having to actually move to India-with the right connections this could be done via an online job search or an employment agency..

Conclusion:  The author is a practical businessperson who has been able to use his foreign language skills and international work experience as a bargaining piece with employers and clients. Here are some points to consider if you are thinking about moving or working in India:

1.  America has few companies that do multi-national outsourcing in large numbers, making the U.S. a relatively "closed" market for those with good credentials but limited hiring options in India. Many skilled professionals who have excellent qualifications can use their connections from America's IT industry to find work opportunities in the U.S., which has higher salaries than India for various skillsets.
