Cheap Home Insurance - A Few Tips To Save Money

If you're shopping around for cheaper home insurance, there are a few things to keep in mind. This post will help you avoid common pitfalls and uncover some lesser-known tips that can save you a lot of money on your home insurance policy.

We'll start with the most basic thing - comparing quotes. Even if an agent offers great rates, it's important to shop around to make sure they don't have anything hidden up their sleeve in the fine print — like a high deductible that will leave you paying for repairs out of pocket! So comparison shop online or at your local insurance agent before signing anything.

Next, do some research on any companies your quote comes from to make sure they're legitimate and reputable. If an insurance agency is struggling to pay their employees or in serious debt, they might decide it's better to just not pay if you do have a claim.

On the other hand, don't go overboard with research. Some people wait weeks or months for quotes from their local agents without knowing which one will give them the best deal. This can waste valuable time. In the meantime, your home insurance policy might expire and leave you vulnerable!

Finally, avoid letting those big home insurance companies intimidate you into keeping your existing policy with them. These days it's easy to find cheaper home insurance options online and through independent agencies that cater to consumers' needs.

Following these tips can make all the difference when you're shopping around for a new home insurance policy. Keep your search short and sweet, shop around, and remember to do a little investigating before signing on the dotted line! http://www.cheapest-home-insurance.net/

First, I have my own personal opinions about Homeowners Insurance that I will share with you below. Second, I will go over some of the things to keep in mind when you are looking for a Home Insurance company or agent. Third, I will get into some specific tips and tricks that will save you a ton of money.

I have my own personal experience with this. When it comes to stuff like Homeowners Insurance, I tend to look at one thing and one thing only: Price. Now there are 2 main reasons for this: #1- I am cheap #2- My family and my pocketbook is worth more than... Well... anything else. haha Do not get me wrong, I truly love my home and family. But, I also love the financial freedom that is afforded to me by not being tied down by big corporate insurance companies that are going to steal from me every time they try to up my premium or make a claim on my policy. Now for other insurance companies:

I do like State Farm. They have been around for so many years and offer many different types of products. When it comes to prices, they have a pretty good.. wait for it... Price! That is right! It seems like every year State Farm keeps coming out with a better rate than what other companies offer. I would say that is a good thing. But, there are exceptions to the rule.

I know of one family who paid $1,800 a year for their Homeowners Insurance with State Farm and when they decided they wanted to switch companies their rate went up to around $2,400. I am not sure that is right but even more shocking was the fact that someone at State Farm called them and told them that they could save money if they had a dog. They were having pet issues in the house so State Farm gave them an $80 discount on their yearly payment if they were going to have a dog in the house! That works out to be about $1,000 dollars per year savings... per dog... are you kidding me? That seems a bit shady to me.

So what does this have to do with you? Well, if you are like most people, you do not have time to compare Homeowners Insurance quotes from different companies or agents. In fact, most people do not even have time to talk to the agent that they already go through. I mean, if they could save some money they would right? The problem is that no one gets a commission when they refer a new customer. The only person that gets paid is the guy trying to collect your new business. That's just how it goes unfortunately. So, let me give you some tips that I have found out along the way to save you money on Homeowners Insurance:

1- Take advantage of online quotes. They are free and do not take any time out of your day at all.. in fact, you can do them when watching TV at night or something like that. It is just so easy!

2- Go through an independent insurance agent or company as they tend to be able to offer a lower price just because there are no middle men or commissions involved in the deal.

3- Ask for a free quote. Some companies will offer you a free quote. I know SuperAmerica offers a free credit score and Homeowners Insurance quote online to anyone they want to listen to right here... their website is super easy to use as well.

4- Look at the State Farm website and see what is out there. They have an amazing Homeowners Insurance price comparison calculator that will show you what your savings will be if you switch companies, or purchase additional coverage for your policy like flood insurance or a term life insurance policy, or even get a different type of coverage like disability income insurance. There is a whole page dedicated to that information on this website. Take a look at it here:

To sum my little bit of advice up and help you on your search here are a few of the most popular Homeowners Insurance companies in the United States: State Farm, Allstate, The Federal Savings Bank, Liberty Mutual and American Family Insurance. Conclusion... do not get stuck paying more than you should for your insurance. I have found that because of the way I have been choosing companies, I am able to keep much more of my hard earned money in my own pocket. The only things that are going into the bottom line is my time and effort on researching and applying for Homeowners Insurance.

Sometimes, that incentive is worth it...
