Conclusion – What to do about these global problems
Climate change will continue to affect the world – the costs and effects will only increase. 'Conservation action' to combat climate change is not sufficient; at best, it's a Band-Aid solution that delays the inevitable. The only way forward is to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, and implement mass electrification of transport and heating systems.
World leaders are making progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions but this may not be enough. If we don't reduce our GHG emissions significantly we'll cause irreversible damage to our planet's atmosphere, ocean, land and biodiversity over time.
