In order to be fully present in your actions and be able to perform flow, a person has learned to control their emotions. Knowing how to control your emotions, whether it’s positive or negative, will help you become a better person. In fact, emotion-related self-control is so necessary for success that many schools now have classes and resources dedicated to helping students develop the ability to regulate their emotions. Being able to control your emotions is the key towards succeeding in school, work, relationships and maintaining good health - basically in everything in life!

In order to be successful at anything you have to set goals for yourself and stick with them. These goals should be attainable but also challenging. It is very important to set goals that you want to achieve. A lot of the time we do not set our goals high enough, and this will not allow us to succeed. We simply need to be clear about what we want each and every day in order for us to achieve success. Is it going back to school? Being home in time for dinner? Doing the dishes? Filling out a form for your boss? Actually, no - that’s probably not even a goal! Smaller, more manageable goals are often achievable - but they are still important!
