  Inspiring acts of kindness

I was walking through the school hallway when I passed by the office. There was a homeless man standing in front of it, and I could see from his facial expression that he was struggling to make ends meet. One of the homeless men from down the street, who work in construction, saw me and asked if he could help this man out. He even offered to walk him home to get his 50 cents a day, which is what it would take for him to get back on his feet. The guy gave me a genuine smile and a "thank you" as I walked away...

I was in the office of my school, where it was quiet. I was hungry, and so I went to the kitchen to get a candy bar. As I walked down the hallway of the school to get to the kitchen, I came upon another small room where there were a few desks in it--especially for homeless kids. This room looked so sad and lonely, and all I could think about is how it would have been had there been more desks in this hallway so that homeless kids could come and stay for a while and forget about how cold they were at night...

I was sitting in the school bathroom next to a friend of mine, and we were talking and laughing. In the next stall is another of my friends who was in the middle of a tough decision. He asked if I could come out there, as he did not want to do it by himself. I went to him and sat down for a short while, but he could not reach his aim, so I stood up to leave. My friend said that he didn't need me in there; what he needed was someone to help him through this tough time...

I was walking home from school with my friends when we came upon a crippled man who had been kicked out from his house by his cruel father after being crippled. He was living on the streets. My friends started to argue and argue, saying that this mother would never let him back into the house since he had been evicted, and asking each other if they should call a priest to see if there was a way they could get this man out of the cold...

I was sitting in the cafeteria at my school while eating a delicious lunch. I was enjoying myself, but just around me some homeless kids were sitting by themselves and feeling sad. They said that they never got any food! Then one boy asked me if I could buy them something to eat. I looked at my friends and said that I couldn't buy them anything, but I would give them some of my lunch...

I was going to the grocery store for a little bit of shopping. I saw an old lady walking with her canes and her dog. She looked so lonely, so I went up to her and asked if she wanted any help from me. She said that she was thankful for me asking, but that she would be fine. Then the lady walked away...

I was on my way home from school when I came upon an elderly woman who looked so sad and lonely. I asked if she wanted help from me but she declined, saying that she would be home soon because it was only a couple of blocks away...

I was walking down the hallway of my elementary school. I heard a boy talking to the principal, saying that he had been bullied and that he was being abused by his older brother. I looked at the principal and said that if he couldn't handle this boy, then he wasn't fit to be treated as a principal...

I was playing basketball in the street with my friends. We were playing some nice and friendly games when up on the window of a house came these big long fingers, which were covered in mold, dust and dirt! I asked if that was a joke about what it happened to be doing up there since nobody would ever let anyone who lived there clean those windows...

This made me angry because these people who ask for help are just showing off their stuff in front of us, while we are suffering...

We all know about the homeless problem in America. Nearly 12,000 people are sleeping outside every night. Young kids are getting beat up with sticks. We have laws against it but people still do it, and the government has done nothing about it. I was in downtown Washington DC earlier this week with a group of kids from our school for a field trip. At first I didn't think much of it when I saw homeless guys hanging around the area but then one guy stood out because he was totally dressed in rags and looked really tired. He kept rocking back and forth and then suddenly burst into tears--covered his face with his handkerchief--and started laughing at the same time...

I Didn't Know Where to Go on a Sunday, So I Took a Walk Around My Block and Came Upon this Woman Who Was Getting Beat Up by Her Husband.

Conclusion
In conclusion, I would like to thank you again. I am not a poor man. I have never been one. I have never really had any problems in my life. It was all wasted by the person who did this to me and the people who did this to him...
The white man came into our land and killed our ways of life, leaving only a few of us alive. Now we are like grains of sand on the sand-lot of time with very little possibility for hope. We camped out on this piece of earth were we could survive as best we could...
